    Release Notes - 2023-06-07

    Attention, General!

    While playing over the last few weeks you might have already noticed the visual improvements to the game. This is thanks to our new Particle Effect system, adding more spectacular visual effects to Call of War.
    Now there’ll be smoke rising from revolting cities, ripples of explosions as artillery shells impact and water jets straddling dueling warships. Directly observe the results of your actions on the battlefield, and marvel at the destruction!



    With today's release, you might also find a new icon in your game rounds, that leads to the new "Operations" screen when activating it. This gives a first glimpse of the exciting new "Operations" feature that will be available to you and explained in depth shortly. Stay tuned for more info about this one!

    We further improved the game with bug fixes. Units will no longer return to their starting position when adding waypoints from within the “Add Target” menu. Coalition invites now automatically expire when the coalition disbands, and Coalition leadership will again correctly be handed over to an active member if the leader goes inactive.

  • Release Notes - 2023-05-30

    Attention, General!

    It’s time for a meeting at headquarters! Old strategies will have to be reviewed, as we released a set of balance changes with today’s update. These changes will only apply to newly created games.

    Battleships, Railroad Guns, Infantry, Paratroopers, Motorized Infantry as well as Light and Heavy Tanks all have received buffs to make them more competitive with other units in their class. We also made Rockets, Flying Bombs and Nuclear Weapons hit harder against all targets by unifying their damage dealt to ground units and buildings.
    These are only the highlights of this balance pass, please check out the detailed Release Notes for the complete list of changes made.

    Finally, it wouldn’t be a complete update without bug fixes. Units with partial stealth, such as Militia, will no longer be invisible when entering hostile territory on terrain that doesn’t provide them stealth benefits. And ranged units with an “Aggressive” fire control setting will now finish upgrades in progress, before attacking enemies in range.

  • Release Notes - 2023-05-16

    Attention, General!

    Battleships will no longer roleplay as destroyers. We fixed a bug that caused battleships to reveal and engage stationary submarines, despite the submarines having their fire control set to “Return Fire”. We also fixed multiple bugs that caused users to get stuck in the tutorial.

    Additionally we upgraded the functionality of the chat. Private chats will now have a persistent message history, allowing you to catch up on previous conversations more easily.

  • Release Notes - 2023-05-02

    Attention, General!

    With today’s update we gave the Booster Cards a complete visual overhaul. The changes will make it easier to distinguish between the different boosters and which benefits they provide.

    We also improved the game with bug fixes. You will no longer be left in the dark on the diplomatic relations of your neighbors. The diplomacy window again correctly shows all nations that a country is at war with.
    Further we fixed combat-related bugs. Land units that attack a disembarking enemy army will no longer embark themselves, but instead engage in combat as intended. And ranged units that have their fire control set to “Fire at Will”, “Offensive” or “Aggressive” will now properly engage stealth units that are revealed within its attack range.

  • Release Notes - 2023-04-18

    Attention, General!

    Several important bug fixes have been released today. Upgraded units will no longer revert to level 1 on maps that start with upgraded units, such as Arm’s Race.

    Crafty players that prefer covert strategies no longer have to fear their plans being uncovered ahead of time. We fixed a bug that allowed un-allied players to observe each other’s stealth units. And while we are on the topic of invisibility: units will no longer disappear completely when given a move command directly after an upgrade has finished.

    Finally we also fixed the bug in the fire control system allowing ranged ground units to pass through other armies uncontested.
