  • Attention, generals!

With today’s update we adjust the price points for the premium espionage actions. As we are continually reviewing Call of War and its features, we now took a look at the available premium espionage actions and realized how powerful they can be. To reflect it in the game balancing we decided to set their gold prices to according levels.

We also release an update to the fire controls today. As promised several weeks ago we took the time to review our latest update and adjusted it according to player expectations. While the “aggressive” fire mode still works like before to enable naval blockades, we changed the “fire at will” mode back to the original behaviour. This means that on default settings no unwanted wars with neutral nations are triggered. This change will be affecting all current and future game rounds.

There are quite a few new things to discover, some of which we already highlighted in the news over the last couple of days. Read through the complete list of features and bug fixes below:

    • Elite AI becomes a free feature of Call of War and replaces the current normal AI.
    • We adjusted the names and descriptions of premium spy actions to make more clear what they do.
    • We adjusted prices for premium spy actions to better reflect their power in the game.
    • Price for country info will be increased from 750 to 2,000 gold.
    • Price for reveal armies will increase from 750 to 2,000 gold.
    • Price for reveal all armies will increase from 1,650 to 9,500 gold.
    • We added tooltips to the relation icons displayed in trade dialogs to make it easier to see which icon stands for which diplomatic trade.
    • When merging units with different fire mode settings, the merged stack will adopt the fire mode of the more powerful unit.
    • We improved the unit selection on mobile devices.
    • Trading on the stock market comes with a 10% fee for buyers and sellers.
    • Minimum price per unit on the stock market is set to 3.0 money.
    • Maximum price per unit on the stock market is set to 30 money.
    • Units cannot be traded anymore.
    • Trading resources via diplomatic trading is limited to coalition and team members.
    • Leaving a coalition causes a 3 days cooldown before a player can join or create a new coalition.
    • Being kicked from a coalition causes a 1 day cooldown before a player can join or create a new coalition.
    Bug fixes:
    • We resolved an issue which caused unit specific kill achievements like “panzer ace” not being updating correctly.
    • We resolved an issue that caused the infantry tab being loaded by default when opening research on mobile devices.
    • We resolved an issue on mobile devices that prevented the arrival time of enemy and allied units to be displayed when selecting a moving unit on the map.
    • We resolved an issue that prevented land range units set to aggressive fire mode to open fire on other units within their attack range.
    • We resolved an issue where additional queue slots were displayed incorrectly on mobile and PC.
    • Resolved an issue where units could not be selected in a certain area in the Pacific Ocean on the “World at War” and “1939 Historic World War” maps.
    Scenario rotation:
    • 2019-09-03 - 2019-09-10: Pacific Conquest
    • 2019-09-10 - 2019-09-17: America Homefront
We hope you like these new updates and bug fixes and wish you all the best on the battlefield!

  • We want Call of War to be an exciting, realistic and balanced gaming experience for all of you. With that in mind, we will introduce several changes to trading in Call of War with our next update on September 3rd 2019.

To start with, you will find that the option to trade units with other players is not available anymore. This change reflects both the realism and the balancing approach. Currently players are able to trade up to 10% of their armies on a daily basis, which can lead to rather bizarre and unrealistic situations.

Furthermore exchanging resources via diplomatic trading will be limited to coalition and team members. This means that trading with enemies or neutral countries will be possible only through the stock market. This reduces options for account pushing as all accounts need to be in the same coalition or team as well as betraying a team or coalition by gifting resources to the enemy. Also, it makes the general balance of the map more fair and predictable. In events or scenarios that don’t have teams or coalitions, trading resources is only possible through the exchange.

Speaking of coalitions, we will introduce a cooldown for joining or creating a new coalition after a player left or was kicked from a previous one. The cooldown after leaving a coalition will be 3 days and 1 day if the player gets kicked out. This change is designed to make coalition hopping less appealing and undercutting enemy coalitions a more risky strategic option.

We will introduce a 10% trading fee on trades through the stock market. The fee is added on top of the price a player pays when accepting a buy offer, while it is subtracted from the amount a player receives when accepting a sell offer. This change addresses an issue where players used the exchange as their private warehouses to store/hide resources from the enemy when their provinces were about to be conquered. Apart from the trading fees the maximum prices will be adjusted as well. Currently you can set prices per unit between 1.0 money and 30 money. This will be changed to prices per unit between 3.0 money and 30 money.

Upcoming changes in existing and new games:
    • The option to trade units via diplomatic trading will be removed.
    • The option to trade resources via diplomatic trading will be limited to coalition and team members.
    • Minimum prices per unit for resources will be increased from 1.0 money to 3.0 money. the maximum prices per unit will be set to 30 money.
Upcoming changes in new games only:
    • Introduction of a 10% trading fee for buyers and sellers when trading resources through the exchange.
    • 10% money is added on top of the price the user pays when accepting a buy offer, while 10% money is subtracted from the amount the user receives when the user is accepting a sell offer.
    • Players will have a 3 days cooldown for joining or creating a coalition avert they leave a coalition.
    • Players will have a 1 day cooldown for joining or creating a coalition after they got kicked from a coalition.
These changes will add another layer of realism to Call of War and make the game experience more balanced and fair to all players.

  • Attention, generals!

Elite AI will become available for all players for free!

We want Call of War to be an amazing gaming experience for you. We are continuously seeking ways to make the game even better and give as many players as possible access to its features.

With that in mind we took a look at the AI in Call of War and decided to make the gold feature Elite AI available to all players of Call of War. The Elite AI will become default in Call of War and replace the current ‘normal AI’ in all game rounds that are started after the release on September 3rd, 2019. This also means that fights against the AI will always count towards your profile stats. You will experience more action in your game rounds and diplomacy, a major feature in Call of War, will become even more important.

Better think twice before you launch a surprise attack on your neighbor as this will lower your standing with AI countries, and may result in them declaring war on you. You don’t want the new action in Call of War getting out of control!

We hope you have fun with the new AI and wish you best of luck on the battlefield!

  • Attention, Generals!

Today’s update brings quite some bug fixes to Call of War. Gone are the days that some unit specific stats did not update. We also resolved the issue of the undefeatable Swiss convoy on the All Countries: All In event map and the 1939 Historic World War map. Those are just two examples of what we fixed today. Here is an overview of all bug fixes and the upcoming scenario rotation:

    Bug fixes:
    • Resolved an issue that caused unit specific stats to not update correctly.
    • Resolved an issue that caused a mixed stack of airplanes with different patrol radius not dealing or taking damage when sent on patrol. Now the smallest patrol radius is valid for the entire stack and damage is dealt and taken by planes accordingly.
    • Resolved an issue that caused swiss planes to appear as indestructible convoys on the “All Countries: All In” event map and the “1939 Historic World War” map.
    • Resolved an issue that made AI enemy troops skip movement time to counter a ranged attack on their province by a player.
    • Resolved an issue that kept transport ships from leveling up combat and speed values after research was completed.
    • Fixed the last online timer of alliance members in the alliances ranking not working.
    • Resolved an issue where units could not be selected in a certain area in the Pacific Ocean on the “World at War” and “1939 Historic World War” maps.
    • Resolved an issue where starting units were not deployed correctly on the “1939 Blitzkrieg” map.

Note: Although unit specific stats are working again, but are yet not counted towards rewards. We are working on the issue.

    • Resolved an issue that caused a long delay and lack of loading screen when creating a new account on iOS when clicking the Play button.
    Scenario rotation:
    • 2019-08-20 - 2019-08-27: America Homefront
    • 2019-08-27 - 2019-09-03: 1939 Blitzkrieg
We hope you like today’s update! We still have a lot in the pipeline for Call of War that is about to be released. Be prepared for the next Update and the content it will bring!
