  • I have been testing some game theories in solo games when I noticed that there is a real limit to the number of maps that people can choose from when setting up games. The North America Map, the World Map, the Pacific Map, the 1944 End War map, all of these are not available. When I asked for them to be opened I was told to post it here and get support from folks.     The question is the net damage the best? SBDE relates to a decrease in effectiveness over a certain size (5 for TAC), so it SBDE should not be a factor for attack waves of less than 5. The question is will the consequences of the damage result in a net increase in total damage from 5 attacks waves as opposed to 2? Consider also that if there is a significant X factor modifier then the more waves the greater the odds are of average results. 3 3

    I have 10 Tac Bombers and the target is 8 artillery. Is it better to attack with two waves of 5 or waves of4-3-2-1 or waves of 5=3=2

  • In open games I find that 35 to 50% drop out by day 6 another 25% by day 14. I have seen too many games determined by who drops out next to whom. Restricting entry to new players is an idea, however another idea might be to make games that only last 7 days for new players so they can get a feel for the game. Then have a few games that go 14 days and so on. This will not stop the drop out, but it will limit the damage and players may be more inclined to stick it out for 7 days than just drop.

    So in summary: we do not know how many games were generated. It sounds like that NO games were played with all 9 active players. It also sounds like Germany was basically victorious if it had 2 active players regardless of the other sides. It also sounds like the Soviets were destroyed across all games. It also appears that no one at the company is going to change the design.

    Questions still not answered: What are the three Countries for each of the sides: USA UK + ??? Germany Italy + ??? Soviet Union + ??? ??? how do they balance the strategic miss match with the axis between the Allies and the Soviets? What are the forces like? What are the victory conditions? What are the AI countries?

  • What I found is that I built level 1 paratroopers and kept developing but it did not upgrade the level 1 to level 2 so I have two groups of them in the city. The problem is they are also one use. The only use I was able to make was an invasion of Denmark's two islands otherwise they are fairly a waste of resources and time. Better to use your capital to make Commandos unless you want to take over Denmark.

  • I fully support all sorts of limiting factors on gold in game set ups. Do a one time limit at start so if everyone wants to start with 200K gold fine. Do a limit on daily amount of gold and again allow the players to set the limit. Do a time limit that says no gold till day X or all gold is stopped at Day x. Let the players play with it.

  • Everyone is ignoring the most vicious of combinations: Paratroops with Gold. Gold allows you build quickly to mobilize a Paratroop corps of 3 or more units. Then they drop and gold escalates the building of an airfield or whatever in the target province. Think about that...
