Quote from tfsworld: “I feel this deeply—it's like watching a cherished old town slowly crumble as it’s overtaken by flashy developments. The game, the community, the memories… they’ve been a part of our lives in a way that’s hard to explain to outsiders. The spirit here was more than just pixels and avatars; it was real connections and experiences that can't be replaced by quick cash grabs. Bytro and this forum held a unique space as one of the few remaining places where community felt genuine,…

Even if there is an “evil organization” it would moreso be the shareholders and investors. But considering Stillfront is struggling so hard right now I do not fully blame them for desperately trying to make back their losses. A shame the market doesn’t promote quality in games and media instead of general attention grabbing slop. The developers of the game don’t deserve to suffer seeing their hard work slowly degrade while pressured by the community they’ve served for a decade and the people the…

Quote from jubjub bird: “The "Bytro is just trying to maximize profits" complaint is one of the most bizarre. Of course that's what they're trying to do, that's how companies work. If COW loses too much money they're just going to cease offering it. You can disagree with whether the decisions they make are wise (which many people do for this particular change), and disagree as to whether they're being honest with the community about their rationale for making this change (they probably aren't), …

Y’know a really good system may have been to have high command be able to cost gold, maybe like 1k a day, and so you’d have to watch ads every day to maintain if, pay money if you want, or accept it and use gold to spam instead or whatever… wouldn’t fix everything, but it would generate revenue and be less damaging. I recall some others suggesting this. Why didn’t it ever happen? Would too many subscribers stop paying and the ads not be enough to make up for it? Only reason I can think of. Y’kno…

Quote from HenrikSchreiber: “The developers want to feed their children. Mana... erm, I mean war bonds, are their way of hiding people who spend money on the game, so they can still claim they're "great strategists" or something. the fact that it changes the game into some sort of "WW2 game with wizards" doesn't matter to them; this is their earning model and we have to live with it or leave. Getting closer and closer to the latter. ” Not the developers, but the shareholders. They’d 100% be bett…

Quote from Destructo the Great: “Quote from Carking the 6th: “Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while, but I think it’s rather safe to say with the current situation. This game is reaching the end of its playable phase. Soon, it will become just another mobile shitfest where the winner is the one with the largest wallet. Bytro, standing as one of the final fortresses against mobile greed, has been conquered by the capitalist hunger of its shareholders. I have very little hope that…

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while, but I think it’s rather safe to say with the current situation. This game is reaching the end of its playable phase. Soon, it will become just another mobile shitfest where the winner is the one with the largest wallet. Bytro, standing as one of the final fortresses against mobile greed, has been conquered by the capitalist hunger of its shareholders. I have very little hope that this tide towards pay to win orientation will be stemmed. Oth…
