Quote from VorlonFCW: “Try switching back to canvas graphics for better playability in those situations. ” Better interface in ALL situations.

  • that is the question: you will have less players, but was that the aim?

• maintaining the diplomacy menu is NOT just ''text''! staff have often pointed out that the lag in the diplomacy menu is due to high demand to maintain all the stored messages. And you do not address the second point: battle calculations certainly do require bandwidth. Kindly withhold your commentary until you are better informed.

Providing players with useful COMBAT information at the end of a game is an even lower priority than providing useful tools for the WAR fighters during the game. Remember: CoW is 95% about buildings, spies, resource managements, research, fake news reports, etc. Even chat is higher priority than war fighting.

  • The recent changes seem to all be directed at reducing player interactions. War fighting has been further discouraged by the potential "popularity' penalty. This above and beyond the -5 "at war with" penalty. Diplomatic interactions with other players have been reduced to a minimum. Hardly any reason to open the diplomatic menu any more; but it has always been so laggy, anyway. And perhaps therein lies the true motivation behind the recent changes: Could it be that the intent is to reduce the se…

  • Supremacy 1 started on or about 5 September. Quote from _Pontus_: “the press release does not even contain a link to the game. ” Yes, a strange omission, indeed. the link is : supremacy1.com seems to have very few of the recent downgrades that CoW is suffering, however, there are so few players in games that I have tried, it is difficult to get trades going, or even simple conversations, for that matter. Most of the 20 player games I have joined start with only 2-6 players, and wind up with 2 pl…

CoW has "upgraded" enough changes to the game that are damaging the enjoyment of the game. Randomly wiping out half the standing forces is likely something the downgraders will seriously consider. There seems to be a strong motivation to reduce the number of long time users.

  • Can anyone with current game experience verify that AI will reciprocate diplomatic offers of RoW or SM? Three weeks into a game, never at war, offered and accepted share map with two live players, active on the commodities market. Global Popularity in the 70's the whole time. And yet, NONE of the RoW or SM diplomatic settings with any of the AI countries has been accepted.

  • Quote from Citizenkane: “Diplomacy with real people is cool, but diplomacy with a line of code is mega-lame. ” on the older version of Supremacy, trading between team members was a trick to enhance popularity. This resulted in the major-mega-lame behavior of mature adults trading each other equal amounts of food constantly for the first 6-8 hours of every game. Intended behavior? I think not.

  • Quote from VorlonFCW: “If you have high popularity you will receive peace, right of way, or even share map from the ai. ” Can anyone with current game experience verify that AI will reciprocate diplomatic offers of RoW or SM? Two weeks into a game, never at war, offered and accepted share map with two live players, active on the commodities market. Global Popularity in the 70's the whole time. And yet, NONE of the RoW or SM diplomatic settings with any of the AI countries has been accepted.

  • Just scrap the SBDE entirely. It is contrived and overly complicate. Does not prevent overstacking, since 99% of the users don't even know what SBDE is. Replace with a simple limit on the number of units in a single stack. And while you are at it: Place limits on the number of air squadrons that can operate out of a single airbase, similar to the limits on CVs.

  • Province Sorting

Quote from VorlonFCW: “might be fixed on beta games already ” NOT fixed on beta!

  • No longer available on Beta? forum.callofwar.com/index.php?…3023588b31dc4c51fcb97d84a

  • Not for active players. AI controlled countries will have all remaining units disappear after all provinces are lost. But live players can fight on.

  • three day cool down after leaving a coalition before you can join another. if I had known that, I would have accepted all the random applications, and immediately kicked them out.

  • There is a point at which making the game play more challenging instead makes it more difficult and tedious. CoN crossed that line, seems CoW is headed in that direction.

  • New Changes are BAD(Beta)

Quote from Hans A. Pils: “Prohibited trade between different teams/coalitions: What exactly has been implemented? If ONLY trade between a coalition member and a member of a different coalition is prohibited, I would really appreciate such a change! ” The only 'trades' allowed are relations. Similar to CoN, no trading of resources, cash or provinces. Even players who are NOT members of a coalition can no longer trade.

  • Radar update

Radar on cruisers and BBs would not be wasted resources, used extensively in WWII, whereas nuclear missiles and nuclear powered BBs were NOT.

  • Check out the new display, super cluttered!

  • Just one example: Planning placements of airfields in advance.
