I have to agree, artillery is a very nice piece to have. I place them behind my main borders with anti-tank and AA-guns. AA-guns are something you should never forget to add into your defence. This really helps defend against just about everything. You have a good plan, just if you do go with artillery, dont forget to give them some protection from other artillery units and tac. bombers.

Quote from T-3PO: “Naval Mines would be another counter for U-Boats/Subs. You lay them down and the size would be about the radius of patrolling aircraft. ” I could see this working but I think it would be easier to use mine laying ships. They could be like a patrol craft and would lay down the naval mines. This would allow you to place mines in a straight line. You would have to protect you mine layers with destroyers. With HP of 80-90, these buildings can be a pain to deal with. Level 2 rockets only do 50 damage and it would take about 10 level 5 artillery to deal heavy damage to this stronghold. Assuming the enemy has 4 infantry, 2 anti-tank guns, 3 AA-guns, and 2 artillery: all placed on a level 5 fortification in the m…

You also have to account for the Russians. They also favored a mixed tank destroyer. Some where made to be fast and others were made to take a beating. The tank destroyer was short lived however. Anti-tank guns were cheaper and easier to get. Not only that but more effective. You could put them in towns and they did very well in close range combat. The tank destroyer was not good in towns, was harder to make, and cost much more. So for the anti-tank role, all in all the anti-tank gun was better.
