This is just my IMHO, but the best army thing needs to be separated by at least 2 periods of war. In 1939-1942 German army was the best not because it was most numerous or most technologically advanced. It was best because it fully utilized it's mobile units as an offset to any downside of their regular forces(which by the way were not so impressive). In 1943-1945 Red Army became the best. It took the Soviets a while to recover from the initial disaster, but the lesson was learned. Here are some…

Quote from Kehsct: “If you've read any history books, Japan never surrenders. They fight to the last man, and more ferociously as you get closer to their homes and cherished leaders. ” 600000+ surrendered to the Soviets. And that was right in Japans backyard. Out of 1 million+ soldiers, only 80000(and this is most likely an inflated figure) were KIA. The rest chose life over death.

Quote from Maximilien: “Quote from Titantc: “Japanese had a million soldiers against the Soviets. How many did they have in the Pacific? ” The Japanese Empire had many troops in China. They also had around 3,000,000 of soldiers in the Pacific. ” where? There were 6 million in the army. Out of them 1 million(1.4 by other accounts) in Manchuria, 1.5 million in the rest of IndoChina, 2 million were poorly trained home defence volunteers(most likely on main islands). That leaves 1.5 million for ever…

Quote from Ellio_98: “I have to say the German Army. They were well trained and equipped (Apart from the whole Russian winter thing). They also pioneered Armored warfare into the modern warfare we see today. ” Trained yes, equipped no. I would go as far as to say they won most of the early war battles on skill alone. As long as the compaign was quick, the lack of quality armor was not as much of a problem. When their Blitzkrieg failed, we start to see Germany wake up and start making hardware th…

Quote from Maximilien: “The Soviets easily defeated the Japanese and caused a heavy defeat to the Japanese in Korea since the Japanese were more concentrated in the Pacific. ” Japanese had a million soldiers against the Soviets. How many did they have in the Pacific? Quote from Kehsct: “Quote from Maximilien: “Quote from Kehsct: “ ” Correct! The great Japanese resistance and damage to the battleships of the United States, influenced the decision to launch the atomic bombs to Japan. ” We mainly l…

I would like to point out that the military casualty rate on the Eastern Front was 1.3 Soviets to 1 Axis. That includes the disaster of 1941 where the Red Army lost pretty much every one on the western border. So it is a myth that Soviets just threw people in the meatgrinder. I also want to remind everyone that Soviets were more technologically advanced exept for a period between 1942-1943 for obvious reasons. Also why is there no talk of Soviets defeating Japanese every time they clashed? Inter…

I'm reposting a bug report from the Russian forum. Some Ukrainian players have expressed offence at Ukraine having German Unit models. Even though some Ukrainians fought for the German side in WW2, the absolute majority fought for USSR. Thus it would be correct to change the unit models to Russian so that it would be historically and politically correct.
