  • I know I am old and have one foot already in the grave, and my memory is not as good as it used to be, so someone with a better memory than me, please confirm for me - back in 2016 in CoW was Oil production/consumption as difficult as it is now? Sorry but I am now getting the distinct impression that it is hardly worth while voicing our opinions as obviously Bytro have done their research and are right and the rest of us are wrong. It is our choice whether we play any game or not. CoW is a good …

  • A stockpile of stores for battle has always been an important consideration before any battle that you have a choice to commit too, especially if you want to put the odds in your favour. A good tactic if possible in battle is to starve or deny your enemy access to his resupply or reforcements whilst still maintaining yours. One of the biggest problems Rommel had in the desert, and even the germans in Russia had was in maintaining their stretched resupply lines.

  • Ha Ha - for the last 12 years, i have worked in a defence JLU (Joint Logistics Unit). Joint = Army, Navy and Air force. Our main customer as they call them is the service person on the front line (Operations). Please lets not go overboard with this whole logistics thing, after all - all units including artillery, antitank, infantry use trucks to move equipment, plus there is trucks needed to resupply ammo, food, clothing etc'. I am not saying in this game that OIL should be taken into considerat…

  • In this game Oil is usually the most vital resource, in that it is used in most aspects of the game - daily upkeep, unit and building construction, combined with the least amount of resource producing provinces. Manpower can be a problem more so at the beginning of the game, but early barracks building on your best manpower producing provinces combined with less production at the start of manpower hungry units can help out immensely here. Food can go negative, but can usually be traded, or manag…

  • Resource collection and use are a vital part of any war. Good Logistics are critical in any long term strategy. It doesn't matter how good your tanks/planes/ships are if they cant move due to having no oil. Another vital resource not used here is munitions (can we say it is part of goods?)

  • Oil is always the most consumed resource and a struggle to get enough of. If we are having to pay for the use of oil, even when we are not using it (units are not moving), because it is too hard for Bytro to manage a more realistic consumption/daily upkeep due to actual distances travelled, surely then they can increase the production rates of oil, and/or increase the availability of oil (more oil provinces).

  • Gold use ranking

    BattleIvan - - General Discussions

    Post

I would like to propose a Gold use ranking. I have been a heavy gold user. I must of spent over $1000 dollars Australia on gold in all my time on CoW. I would justify my usage by saying to myself I will only use gold in defence, or research or industry development or or or and it would go on and on, but having played against and along side some really good players that used very little gold or none at all, I have come to realise you dont need to use gold to have a really good CoW game of strateg…

  • What is daily oil upkeep? How much oil does a Tank or Plane use if it is stationary all day? Do we have to cater for leaking oil tanks? I know some will say it is to stop some players building excessive amounts of tanks or planes? I say let them. This is where I would say you are incorporating too may rules to control the game. Don't use this unrealistic penality. If the ship/tank/planes moves then use oil, but if they are not moving then why would they be using oil? Each unit has a damage/stren…

  • Thank you all for your feedback. Plenty of comments on tech trade - thank you. Another question that I had raised was on lost research if you change your research part of the way through researching. If we stop part way through constructing a building we can build something else and then come back and complete the part built building from where we left off. Can we have this same capability with research please and even equipment. This could be tired into a high command research queue, where also…

  • Hi all. This talk on territory trading and province trade limits is good. All talk in this forum is good, as I think all talk that would help all players better understand the game mechanics and get the best satisfaction out of the game has to be good. I have found a way to EXCHANGE provinces avoiding daily province limits. I have shared this with other players. I would like to share this here, but having been accused of cheating and abusing the game mechanics, I am dishearted to share it here. …

  • Ideas pt 3

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

I like the idea of a research queue for high command. We are allowed a production and construction queue, why not a research queue. I dare say it will be a wait and see thing.

  • THE GOLD

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

Bare in mind that players will be more willing to spend their money if they think they could win it back by getting a winning place in the game or winning a free game by getting in the top 3 or 4 etc

  • What happens if you have right-of-way with the AI when you attack? Not that I do this, but a good friend does.

  • Surrender Button

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

Thank you for your comments. In the game that started this question of the "Surrender/handover" button, I had already spent over $500 to get gold for defence, as the main opponent to the coalition I was in was spending more, and pushing everyone back. To make things 100% worse she/he told me that rather than play this game - I should go and play on the highway. Yes I reported it. A lot of warnings from CoW - eventually I got banned from the game. Main point here, was that I had spent a lot money…

  • Army size

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

In game players army size is listed from largest to smallest, but how is this figure determined? For example in terms of army size how is a battleship compared to a militia? Crew size? Balanced units. To increase your army size quickly can you build a lot of cheap units like militia? Hence someone that has a lot of expensive units to build may have a small army size wise, but their army would probably be stronger. Army size doesn't always relate directly to Army strength.

  • I have an Android too. I press the bottom left hand corner of the screen, to show all the active screens at once, then hit the 'X' in the top right hand side of the screen or screens you want to Log off.

  • Elite Commanders

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

The day 24 was if you had the existing elite militia (level 7 militia) - you could start research on day 24 at the earliest. Other existing elite units are a lot later. It is good having these existing elite units but you cant use them until well into the game. As I said Elite Commander maybe the wrong title for what I am suggesting, This suggestion maybe better called War Ministers or Specialised industry or ...... The idea was to allow slightly different boosts/favouritism to some units, that …

  • Elite Commanders

    BattleIvan - - Suggestions / Criticism

    Post

Similar to how you have Elite Units which you can buy with gold or build up with tokens/blueprints from supply crates, you could have elite commanders. This need not be an actual unit on the battlefield, but rather a leadership/command style or combat/defence strategy you can adopt from history - that if you have brought or gained through tokens/blueprints you can select before game play that you use during the game. One of the disadvantages of the Elite Unit is that you have to wait until day 2…

  • I was going to complain that the Toggle fullscreen activation button for the want of a better description, was in the way of the up/down scroll slide for the Province Administration when viewing provinces at the bottom of the list, but as some may think I dont give enough complements to the game designers, I must say I have only just discovered this toggle fullscreen option, after it being in the way for so long, and it is a view option that I am going to now use a lot more - thank you - dont kn…

  • so .......does that mean there is no real answer to a way to have the "pre-production" route shown to being the same as the actual route "post production". I dare say the biggest problem, even for a super computer, is you can setup a province rally point, even without a unit in production, so how in hell can the computer show the best route for a unit type that it doesn't know it is going to produce. You mentioned tanks taking a different route than infantry - another one would be naval bombers …
