The current status of cow is 90% arcade game, since less than 10% of live players remain after 5-6 days. Bystro has strived mightily to make the programmed countries give every appearance of livelihood, when in fact, using the most boneheaded tactics. Incredibly, many, if not most, of the new children accounts readily recognize and attempt to emulate these pre-programmed failure modes.

PostThe bigger question is: Where is CoW going? There is no more "Classic CoW" since the advent of requiring food for research, and many other game breakers that were introduced before the 1.5 excursions ever started. Time to kick back, take a six month break, and come back to find that bystro has sold the earlier version of CoW to Laxident Games.

This forum is indeed full of information and entertainment. A real shame that more players do not attend, even if just to read. The advanced notifications of significant game changes is particularly valuable. As just one example: Forum readers were able to re-position their warships and other ranged units prior to the implementation of the Naval Blockade feature.
