  • Quote from MontanaBB: “Does anyone know what the new 24-hour countdown ticker is on the game information listed on the games list? I thought it might be a countdown to the next daily update, but it's apparently something else since it does not correlate with the daily update of the one game I am currently playing. ” Announcement News, Oct. 10, 2017, "Minimum Rank, Maximum Fun" It's the last time one logged in. But I haven't checked the parameters of what defines "logged in"...could be literal.

  • English Channel (2 person) and/or Mediterranean (4 person) Map Players Wanted. - Level 40+ - Able to check in on game at least twice per 24 hrs. - Someone who'll communicate during game [English or Spanish writer preferred; can handle French and some basic German (other languages require Google Translate...with which I'm fine but you know how that goes)]. - We can discuss gold limits (there has to be some allowed...I use it without thinking about it). - Never played these and am very interested …

  • Quote from sgtdeath: “my first game will definitely be my last ” Would anyone like to change their rebuttal to my post? This quote sounds rather definite and eternal.

  • An experience S1914 player says he won't play a 2nd game of CoW Mobile because his first game supposedly had a big spender that supposedly led him to also use a copious amount of gold. Anyone else find the credibility of this story doubtful? I mean, who gets fed up with a game (forever) because of one incident?

Quote from Diabolical: “OK. Here's another idea...one that is unique for the current and any future [DOMINION] map(s). There are many potential players, of course. And that's good. But with the impenetrable borders, there are lots of inactive nations that just sit there and can never be removed from play. So...why not let any inactive nation have it's impenetrable border be erased after a week of inactivity? The timing could be different of course, but the need to get rid of these space sappers …

  • Quote from NukeRaider33: “He is at war with all all 39 other players and 12 AI. ” Then he's just not [insert unkindly adjective].

  • Quote from MontanaBB: “Oh, and by the way, when trying to assess whether two accounts might be held by a single person who is a multi-account cheater, you should also look at the game statistics. More often than not, multi-account cheaters will have remarkably similar sets of statistics because they don't vary their style of play from account to account. ” I see this quite a bit and though it's circumstantial, combined with resource pushing without spies revealing any communication between the t…

  • Find the one he's not "at war" with and that's his friend. He's spoiling, to a miniscule degree, the morale of everyone else's provincial morale improvement (productivity). [Edit: and, obviously, he doesn't care about his own]

Quote from freezy: “You can actually order the list after amount of provinces to see who is doing good, just click on "provinces" on top of the column Quote from NukeRaider33: “Can someone explain all of this? ” Yes, the explanation is: FUN Not all maps need to be super serious. The good thing is that maps are optional, you can play the ones you like. ” Yeah, a few days after making the suggestion I realized it's duplicative of Diplomacy>Information (tab)>Province (column) sort function. I could…

Quote from Clanpred: “so somehow giving the Americans an advantage is good business sense? This issue really becomes crucial in Alliance matches so it doesn't really make any sense. In a large public match there are many other factors so it doesn't become such a big factor so I don't think it makes sense what you are suggesting Patton ” Quote from miech: “...Assuming Americans are actually the big spenders. I believe Patton is trying to explain a certain business acumen in this discussion aimed …

  • YES! YES! Oh, I *hate* that! It recognizes the enemy town but doesn't recognize it's empty. The software should ignore towns altogether (except to warn it may cause a DoW) and only recognize enemy units. Another thing that happens (related to your pic), if you drop off or pick-up a unit that recalculates stack speed, the CoW program will allocate the (new) fastest route for that unit/stack. Sometimes, it's not the route you want. This can be a pain if an alternate route takes a path endangered o…

  • In support of MontanaBB's caution about sending a major invasion force without protection, I offer this which occurred in the last 6 hrs. (I'm not Caucasus. Day 10. Coincidentally, same map my transport ran into a neglected transport and had to be bailed out by TAC. No subs were lost in the posting of this casualty list.) (Hidden Content)

  • DxC, you don't need to respond to this but, sometimes, when I'm doing the same thing, I inadvertently double click and that grabs all (well, most) units of the same type (or something like that) and, suddenly, several stacks want to go to where I'm pointing and I've got these path leaders all over the place.

  • This thread (thanks MontanaBB) got me to look at my own Achievements tab (something I don't think to do) and I noticed my "Ruler of Nations: Win 10 Rounds of the 'Clash of Nations' Map" has the three stars awarded and indicates "10/10". I'm fine with that end point as it may encourage me to focus on a different Achievement. But, it would be nice, if there were some place where I could see my actual total of any Achievement that fills up.

  • Quote from MontanaBB: “Quote from I Patton: “Normally I'd send a sub to clear the way but, hey, it's too early for ships...yeah, but not for transports. ” If it's Day 2/3 or later, it's not too early for your first sub squadron. If it's Day 3/4, and you're sending out ocean convoys of ground units, it's not too early for your first destroyer squadron. I have not lost a unit in an ocean convoy of ground units since my first game 18 months ago. But I've sure sunk a LOT of them, mostly completely u…

  • Quote from MontanaBB: “Quote from I Patton: “hey, maybe transports should have some sort of escort, too. ” Uh, yes, they should, IP. And you know that. BTW, I suggest you send a destroyer or two to rescue your transport. Melee combat involving two unescorted ocean-going convoys of ground units takes a very long time to resolve. ” Yeah, I see that (0.3). Two sorties of TAC cleared the way w/ my ground units losing 20% health overnight. That's what I get for not anticipating an aborted amphib. fle…

  • As my transports run into the neglected transport of an inactive player...hey, maybe transports should have some sort of escort, too.
