    • Put Subs on your sea entry points to stop any troops transports. Invest in Naval bombers to spot enemy subs near you too and to clear the way to mainland Europe via France or Belgium/Netherlands area. But dont forget to invest in fighters too to protect your naval bombers. Sweden and Germany on the other hand want to secure there borders with forts against active players while expanding into nearby AI nations and then weaker players. Just keep expanding and you shall be fine.

    • The thing about taking an island based country at the start is that it provides you with protection. The sea can be your friend as it takes an all out suicide attempt for someone to come at you right away from across the water. The flip is that it's going to be a little harder for you to expand as you'll have to go across the water as well. I find that when playing an island start you have a little more time to fortify and build your infrastructure. Mass your army and keep building. While this is going on work on your Diplomacy and make allies. Island players should always have a bad ass Navy imo... and that can be a great service to others trying to expand across the waters as well.
