Technically you can set up Blockades in the game already at certain areas such as the Straight of Gibraltar, Istanbul, and in the Baltic Sea area, control both sides, station some troops in both, put artillery in a place it covers the sea *in a fort if possible to absorb return fire, and put a fleet nearby, and have aircraft patrol for subs *having your own subs in the area would be nice also*. Anyone who is at war or trade embargo with you tries to cross they get stopped. Sealing the path to and from a minor sea controls the flow of naval battles if you do it right with adequate planning.

I asked for a success, that wasn't a success. It was nearly a success, just like Arnhem, but it wasn't. So, just like Arnhem for paratroopers, I will not take a near success as a reason to roll over for something to be put in this game.
I think a blockade or sanctions feature would be helpful, and really add an extra dynamic to the game. I just don't think it needs immediate attention. -

For your sanction option, that is basically a trade embargo, which we already have.
Either in general, or per product.
It would make it more realistic, to have aside from the political and militaristic elements, some economical tools.
Also what one could do is, agree with the players to enfocre a trade embargo, and sneaky trade personally.
Like iran does with some countries. -
It would never be used but you could argue that people might use it for RP if you made it a GM option.

GM feature, let's settle on a GM feature or this thread will end till the day the devs say anything."Victory needs no explenation, defeat allows none"

I agree, because that would be annoying as all heck because someone knows you need something, and they embargo that item thus you can't do squat. However a unit to counter the blockade and sanaction thing could be. The Blockade Runner.

True but blockade running, could be a vaild option if for example you know your military will be crushed by him. It will make sure supplies get to your troops aboard.
-
Or just have it as a GM option and not play in games that have it.

Whenever you say blockade running I get the impression of smuggling...
Blockade can block supply lines, but doing a blockade in-game will be tricky, you need a larger and stronger fleet."Victory needs no explenation, defeat allows none"

Also said fleet would be a nice target for a nuclear strike.

Very nice target..."Victory needs no explenation, defeat allows none"

yup I'm going back to bombarding and blitzing."Victory needs no explenation, defeat allows none"

There is the option of embargo.

Only problem with that is that the country you're embargo'ing can still trade with other players. The idea of it all is to restrict the country from trade entirely, unless that particular country or his allies takes out the blockading ships, or manages to sneak through the blockade with "runner ships".

It would be great if stowaway environment, including “ Ship-to-ship cargo transfer ”, were implemented.
