As it stands right now it appears that disembarking units are immune from attacks until they are no longer disembarking, which means units placed on a beach to inflict casualties on them will just stand there for the time it takes and do nothing, leaving them unscathed and making it pointless to try to defend beaches with anything but a large force, I assume this is not intended, as this wasn't the case in S1914.

No, I nearly lost a whole invasion force of 3 cars and 1 inf. versus 1 inf. except for the fact that a cruiser had been bombarding the unit that was defending for a few days so it wasn't up to full strength.

Currently, disembarking troops are only vulnerable to 'naval' and 'submarine' damage, until they are fully landed.
We may change this to a more gradual model later. -
This needs a serious rethink....

As demonstrated in the image above, the disembarking unit (mine as it happens) is holding an armoured force there in a fight the armour can do no damage in while other units are moved in to kill it.
The disembarking unit has ceased disembarkation, so it could in theory hold the armour there indefinitely. -
Ok, Armies which can not damage each other should not block.

If you meant this as "it's fixed"...it isnt, Im still holding that armour (and it is now nearly dead courtesy of my cruisers).

One of the better parts of s1914 was that amphibious landings were risky for the enemy to do which is accurate. I remember you needed either a lot of naval presence nearby or try and land somewhere the enemy did not notice. A contested landing would be very bloody for the attacker.

Thanks for clarifying....and for that bug helping scuttle Italy's counterattack

So, any news on this topic? It's really frustrating to see how enemy units land on your beaches and you cannot do anything to them with your defenders

I believe disembarking troops can be damaged by land troops. The past is a foreign country.

Well, I have 1 LTB attacking 1 LTB + 1 militia disembarking for more then one hour. My LTB is 100%, those units are 100%. After they finish disembarking, my LTB is at some 80%, the units are at 100% Is this damage done to disembarking troops?
Can somebody point to some information on this issue? I'm not looking for the exact calculations the devs use in this situation, but at least an example so I could understand the expected outcome of a beach battle. -
Ask the mods. The past is a foreign country.
