      With the war with france seeming to wrap up, The Chicken-Lithuanian Commonwealth has decided to release details relating to the heroic siege of paris.

      With each sides armies consisting of about 15,000 men, and the french well dug in, it would seem the odds were at least even. However, Lithuanian General and supreme leader, BigChicken, had complete confidence in his men. “Our army is one of the best trained in the world” says Lithuanian war correspondent, Atei Reznov. “The French however, were prepared. The must have outnumbered us, at least 90% of their armed forces was fortified in paris. It would also seem as if a general draft was called up, as there was also a large number of untrained irregular infantry. As great as our army was, the french heavy infantry are not to be mocked. They are well trained and armed, and were just as numerous as milita. There was also 3,000 highly trained Swiss footmen, and the French Royal Guard.” The Supreme Chicken was still unfazed. He ordered his National Chicken Guard units(light infantry) to charge the french positions, protecting the Infantry Of The Chicken(modern Infantry). The National Guard Charged forward, ready to throw their lives away for Lithuania and their Chicken. Swarming over the makeshift french defenses, they went into prolonged melee with the french heavy infantry. With no other choice the brave National Guards were told to fold back, leaving the Infantry Of The Chickens to fight in melee. From a distance, the men fired shot after shot into the French Heavy infantry, but they would not brake. With no side getting clear advantage, BigChicken Ordered the Imperial Chicken Guard, his personal units, to charge in. The tired and outnumbered french were forced to retreat. 1,500 Chickens lay dead on the field, the french number slightly less than that.
      More french forces sallied out, the french militia and irregulars skirmish with the elite National Chicken Guard, they were forced to retreat back into the city. After defeating the french army on the field, The real challenge was now in sight, passing the 1.5 meter tall stone defense around the city, the wall was guarded by swiss guard and some cannons, of which the Lithuanian army had none. Again, nothing but a charge could secure the capital. An hours long fight for the wall ensued, and once again, the french were not repulsed. More French units went up on the walls, and the the Lithuanians were repulsed. For all of that night, the men of both sides skirmished, with the National Guard being far superior than the French Irregulars. That mourning, under the covering fire of the Line infantry, once more the National Guard Charged the walls. This time with accurate fire preventing The French from defending them effectively, even so the french held the walls with heavy losses until the swiss were ordered back into the heart of the city at noon. Without the powerful swiss, the militia and heavy infantry fell back within the hour. A big mistake for the french. Paris being a tight city, was perfect for the National Guard units, with their sabres, they were vastly superior to the Heavy and swiss infantry who could not get in formation or use their polearms effectively. The doomed French forces fought house to house, causing a large number of civilian losses. By 6 o'clock that all the french forces had been captured, killed, or fell back to government building in a last stand. The swiss foot fought at the town center until the end with the French Royal Guards, Giving French king Lord Yar time to escape. Fighting did not end, and is still going on as last hold outs are being destroyed and French citizens resist occupation. Over 4,000 Lithuanian are dead, and 13,000 French and soldiers are dead or captured. The victory has been credited to the loyalty and determination of the Lithuanian soldiers, as well as the great power of the skirmisher infantry.

      My spelling in grammar in this article from NWE is not my best as it was just for fun in a regular game. Maybe this short one from CoW is better

      Assault on Yunnanfu

      After initial success in the Yunnan Campaign, the Burmese army was stalled by the main Yunnan force, defending the Capital city of Yunnanfu. Over 6,000 Burmese soldiers charged into the city, the burmese big sword units being at less of a disadvantage at such close range. Facing roughly 3,000 Yunnan Nationalist defenders, the Burmese faced heavy casualties in the house to house fighting. At one point the Defenders turned their massive 75mm AA guns to bear on buildings and masses of charging Burmese. The day ended well for the Burmese, with Long Yun fleeing the city and his remaining men in the city either fleeing with him or surrendering. Burmese losses are around 2,000 and Yunnan at an estimated 2,500. The battle proved to be most costly for the inhabitants of the city, as over 10,000 died, the majority suffocating as a fire set by the defenders went out of control, burning two thirds of the city.

      from Moscow. And if it weren't for the failiure of Operation Barbarossa, the war would have been shaped differently.

      However, the Russians were still resolute and Determined. The battle on the Eastern Front wasn't over yet,

      and on August 23rd, 1942, the battle of Stalingrad had erupted. Again, more casualties for the Russians, for days the

      Germans controlled more ground, until about a month in. The cold was something that the Germans weren't prepared

      for, but the Russians were. No one dared to challenge Russia and it's strapping blizzards since Napoleon. Friedrich Paulus,

      a German officer, had no idea that the cold was do so much. The guns jammed, the troops started to freeze and

      starve. Vasily Chuikov, a Soviet officer, was waiting for this moment, Stalin was waiting for this moment. The sign of

      weakness from the Germans.)

      With the last batch of PanzerKampfwagen III's we have brought a swift end to the threat on our western border that was Portugal. If Portugal had become unfriendly with us they would have opened up their borders for an invasion of our homeland by the British Empire. Now that we own their lands we will be able to properly defend our waters territorial waters and lands from hostile forces. If any nation treaspasses upon our waters we will impound their ship.

      [i] Today marks the beginning of a new portion of this war. In return for documents relating to the production of the PanzerKampfWagen VI Ausf. H "Tiger" we will be sending an expeditionary force to aid our allies Germany on the Eastern front. With Spanish men fighting alongside our German comrades there will be a swift end to the war.       The proposal for a cross European highway has been approved. The Spanish government will join in on building the highway that will bring economic growth to all nations involved. Along with that act we have made it simpler for nations allied with us to obtain visas to visit the great nation of Spain. We hope that this will bring an increase in the tourism industry and build up even stronger relations with those whom we are allied with.

      CONGRESS PASSES FINAL NEUTRALITY ACT
      Congress has now passed another neutrality act, changing the stance the United States took back in 1937 where the 2nd neutrality act was signed. The new act, effective in 3 weeks will lift the current arms embargo on all belligerent nations and will reopen trade under the terms of cash and carry. Any belligerent nations willing to trade can purchase material from the United States, but any goods are paid immediately and have to be transported by their own ships. However the difference is that now the sale of war material (Arms,vehicles) is now allowed.

      Opinions are mixed from the public, isolationists fear that this will bring us into the war in Europe, but our President has been vocal in how this is not the case. Many experts are uncertain of what this act will do in the future, but we can only hope for our stance to stay neutral.

      THE NEW DEAL : AN OVERVIEW
      It has been 6 years since FDR's appointment as our President and it has been rough, I am not going to lie to you or sugarcoat the truth, it has been rough. But now, as war is raging across Europe and Asia it seems times might be changing for the worse. As you know, FDR created agencies and passed numerous acts and laws to end this depression. I am going to review how effective they were. The answer might shock you! Unemployment is still a huge problem, the jobs made by the Alphabet Agencies are all temporary. However all the people who were employed in an Alphabet Agency has gotten valuable training for future jobs. After the recession in 1937, the economy is still in a bad shape. However all this doom and gloom has a bright opening. Things have improved since the crash and subsequent depression, and I say in the future we will see the depression as a footnote in history and America will be great again.

      As the huge prison door slammed behind him, General Konstantin Rokossovski blinked his eyes in the january sunlight. He had called this prison his home for over a year now, but he was a free man again now. The endless interrogations, the tortures, the constant pressure to confess... confess to what? He had done nothing wrong. He had been a career officer, Serving his country, rising to the high ranks of the Soviet Red Army. Life had been good and the future was bright... then in the dead of night, Beria's NKVD people inj the long trench coats had come and taken him. He still didn't really know why he had been arrested and held for so long. But it was over now. He rubbed his hands in the cold winter air, then looked at his own hands in surprise... he had completely forgotten that he didn't have any nails anymore.

      Across the yard stood a ZIL luxury car with a steadily running engine. The glass was tinted and he couldn't see who was inside - but he knew it was waiting for him. There was little point evading this, and he crossed the yard, opened the car door and got in. Sunken deep in the soft cushion was his old assistent, Zhukov.       Rokossovski gave him a cold glance, then replied: "You don't need to threaten me, tovaritsch. I don't love my country any less than you do. I will fight and die for it if that is to be my fate. "
      Zhukov smiled at him, and signalled the driver. The car started moving again.
      "Later on, Dimitri will be taking you to the headquarters of the 5th Cavalry Corps. You will be their commander, with a rank of Colonel. A hard task awaits you there. But first, let us have dinner and talk of old times. "
