    • Battleships or Cruisers

Hey everyone my question is whether I should work on battleships or cruisers

Battleships have further range but need more.
Cruisers are easier to produce but lack range of battleships

just wondering me i usually use Cruisers but just a question

    • Cruisers are a mix, and therefor inefficient.

      At max level:
DD surface 5.5, asw 11 (cost 1750 steel, 250 oil; maintenance 75 oil)
CC surface 15, asw 3 (cost 2500 steel, 1000 oil; maintenance 125 oil)
BB surface 32, asw 0.6 (cost 4000 steel, 1000 oil; maintenance 200 oil)

For roughly the same price you can have 1 DD + 1 BB or 2 CC.
      What would you rather have?
What if I'm indoctrinated and actually fighting the good guys?
    • Czar, I have gotten around 100 kills with 5 BB in one match(throughout the levels) and I don't think I lost a single one either. Floating debris is wrong, especially with the nuclear one which is the fastest ship in the game and perfect for a quick reaction force, able to cross the Atlantic in 18 hours. They are excellent. If you rule the seas you can safely land your troops.

ya but in the beginning of a game most people will build up DD and CC whilst you have one BB its just my opinion but CC are the better one

    • What im saying is that in the early stages of game day-10 CC will be more popular and powerful than BB im not saying day 20 but BB are more powerful and they have a nuke version but CC are easy to make to maintain and have average range.

    • In general I would say neither, any resources spent on these units are resources you can't spend on anything much more strategically valuable. Building the infrastructure needed to even make these units (high level naval bases) early is expensive and the opportunity costs are huge.

And just because you can use nearly any unit well against poor players doesn't mean its a good unit to use.
    • If it is successful, it should be used. If you cannot use one of the most powerful units in the game(BB) you should probably learn how. It does not take skill to use it, but it takes even less skill to only use tanks, inf and planes.

    • I normally don't put my troops at sea so I don't need destroyers of any kind to patrol. My favourite ship is the sub, being able to attack the enemy by surprise and single-handedly engage enemy troop convoys. They are also pretty good against BBs. I also use some destroyers to patrol transited areas (e.g. Gibraltar). Now, going on to BBs vs CCs. I vote for BBs, since both of them are used for bombarding (what in says in the CC description as also being good for patrol is complete crap) but the BB has a longer range and is more powerful. Anyhow, the BB's disadvantage is that it is an easy target and needs to be escorted.
The past is a foreign country.
    • I agree, by the time the BB can be built you'll already have a fleet of DD escorts. Also, in most of my games my navies have survived toward the very end with little to no casualties when used effectively. In short, they are a great investment and a long lasting one if used well
