    • Split the Rockets and Flying bombs

Do you like this proposal? 18
      1.
        Yes, completely (5) 28%
      2.
Yes, but some issues remains unsolved (3) 17%
      3.
        No (10) 56%
      Reason for the proposal:

In the CoW the rockets are special type unit that uses specific game principles like no other unit in the game:

      • Special abilities of the unit are added in during the research (immunity to the AA and Fighters).
      • Building requirements are changed during the research.

      Conclusion:
      • It is desired, that all units in the game uses the same principles like:
        • building requirements are the same during the game,
        • special abilities are the same, they can just improve (like range and capacity).
      • In rockets line those principles are get around.
      • It seems, that we have two types of units mixed in one research line: Flying bombs and Rockets.

      Proposal:

      • Research:
        • split the tech tree to:
          • Flying bombs (currently rocket lvl.1)
          • Rockets (currently rocket lvl. 2+)
        • it is just a split of tech lines, no changes in research availability, cost and time is needed
        • rockets can be researched after Flying bomb is researched
      • Production:
        • In provinces with airfield lvl 1 the flying bombs can be produced even if rockets are researched too.
        • In provinces with airfield lvl 2+ the user can choose if he wants to produce rocket or flying bomb
      • Unit cost, maintenance and features:
        • Flying bombs could be cheaper for resources, maintenance, production time than rockets
        • Other features can stay unchanged.

rockets are superior to flying bombs in every way, this would be a waist

I agree, rocket are superior. But this discussion is not about what unit is better. :)

Now the rockets are limited to the airbase lvl 2 that needs more time and resources to build. And this limits the availability of rockets. Before the limitation to the lvl 2 of airfield to build rockets, this proposal will be pointless. But now is relevant. :)

It is similar to infantry and militia. Both are in general same type of units, but have different special abilities and building requirements. So they have their own research line like every unit in this game.

by day 16 chances are you would have mostly airbase lv.2/3 anyway, and militia is much cheaper than infantry, but is inferior, rocket lv.1 and 2 are the same price, but 2 is superior, so this is pointless

    • With the flying bomb(really, it's a steered rocket plane with a bomb in it. An Ohka, in a way.) part... Technically, it should be a plane, if this split were to happen. So, it'd have an advantage over other rockets: Being able to switch the target mid-flight. I mean, if it's going to be low flying, and being weaker than the others, there should be some incentive to having them. It'd still be consumed on impact, but the point is, if your suggesting to separate them, make it so that it isn't just a weaker rocket under a different name that can be produced into the later game. It should have some advantages to being produced(because they cost exactly the same as of right now)
    • They would need a pilot to change targets in flight. Good idea from game balancing standpoint (it would allow them to target moving stacks!), bad for historical accuracy.

But if the latter is tossed out of the window anyway: allow them to change bases like normal planes can (i.e. flying instead of on trucks), so they would have a deployment advantage too... current rockets can give you a headache when the production site isn't near the front.
When the fake daddies are curtailed, we have failed. When their roller coaster tolerance is obliterated, their education funds are taken by Kazakhstani phishers, and their candy bars distributed between the Botswana youth gangs, we have succeeded.

Germany and Japan had piloted bombs, if these could be added to the game, there would be no need to split the rocket tree, only require research of the rocket lv. 1.

Exactly right. Separating the buzz bombs and the ballistic rockets into two separate tech trees is pointless.

And, please, let's not even consider adding suicide weapons to the list of in-game units. If you want a suicide weapon, all you have to do is leave your tactical bomber stack hovering over a big stack of ground units which includes 8 or 9 high-level AA regiments, and wait for units on both sides to start evaporating . . . .

i mean nuclear bombers are sort off like suicide bombers anyway, they have a single use and you dont get anything bacafter using it
