Game information 24-hour countdown ticker (?)

Does anyone know what the new 24-hour countdown ticker is on the game information listed on the games list?

I thought it might be a countdown to the next daily update, but it's apparently something else since it does not correlate with the daily update of the one game I am currently playing.

You mean the time since last active? If so that was announced. See news.

It's the last time one logged in. But I haven't checked the parameters of what defines "logged in"...could be literal.
