cheating

    it seems to me that there is a lot of cheating, ie. multiplayer accounts, going on in a lot of the games. i have also caught 2 admins cheating and they are trying to have my account deleted, or at least thats what i think. i do admit that in one of the games where i reported the person cheating, he was clearly controlling at least 4 countries and he is an admin, i did cheat and created a bunch of multiplayer accounts because i reported him and nothing was done about it. i think that admins should be prohibited from playing in any game at all unless they are monitored for multi accounts because the more i research it seems that alot of admins are in alliances and are fairly highly ranked. what purpose does having admins serve if some or even one of them is going to cheat? being an admin just allows them to cheat more and exploit other perks of the game and get away with it.

  • I hate cheating, I have played a game, where I was admin, and I felt the game was going a little quiet, so removed inactive players... Now I was winning and they other large nation that I was at war with were in there final days, now once I opened the game up, he ( I 97% believe) took another account and attacked me, well I beat him on both accounts, and well he just quit....


    But I agree I feel more should be done to stop cheating, and cheating ourselves is not the solution

    are there no I.P adress checks or stuff like that, that monitor accounts, I have seen that in many other games

    or are these guys just going incognito and changing VPN and stuff like that?

  • Due the techniques of the internet and the ease of having multiple cloaking choices to prevent beeing identified (by normal operators, not NSA and such) there is no way to detect an good made multi account.

    You have mobile networks, dsl-redial in, open w-lan´s and also proxy servers and several other possibilities to have multiple accounts with multiple IP´s same time. Thus it is impossible to proof an ID of any user.

    End of story.

    You seem to think a lot of things, but without facts you can't make a case im afraid, accusing admin of this without proof is just going to make this worse...

    If someone cheated and it was an admin, eventually they will be caught by other staffers who have no tolerance for that kind of behavior, but posting in the forums like this isn't they way to get them caught.

  • Im in a game where we got notified that two players are banned, because they were using the same account.
    So there ARE some checks. Wich is GOOD.

    Cheating is silly. I play this game for fun. Part of that fun is outsmarting my opponent. If you play with multpile accounts its not much of a victory; why bother.
    What if I'm indoctrinated and actually fighting the good guys?
