    • How Can I Prepare for this Attack?

I intercepted a message from another player saying that I'm next on his kill list. My problem, I am spread far to thin. I have 85 units, mostly rockets and naval units. Meanwhile I have most of South and North America, and part of Spain. When this war comes which is inevitable, how should I defend myself and how should I prepare myself?
    • Attack his weaknesses and try to build as many units you can and conserve resources such as turning off barracks and ports if you dont need them. You can also get your allies to help too and get some of his rivals to attack him. If he is going to overrun your occupied land go back to your cores and dig in to fight to the end if it comes to that
    • You don't say which map, I am assuming 22 player. The following advice may not be as valid for other maps.

You need information. Use military sabotage spies to attempt to reveal his units and movements. Study his units and build forces to counter them. Study his movements and be prepared where he lands.

You also need a naval blockade. I suggest a picket line of subs a good distance out in the ocean to observe enemy movement, and a quick reaction force of destroyers behind that that can intercept the enemy. Sort of like this:

And if the do manage to get past your picket line keep in mind that you need a unit to observe the coast from on land. The best time to flatten the enemy is while disembarking either with planes, artillery, or level 3+ rockets. BUT you need to be able to see them, and your provinces can't see a disembarking unit, only your own units can see.

I would not worry about keeping spain. Protect your american holdings, and defend your ally. If they wish to battle for spain it is better to let them capture a few provinces than to protect spain at the expense of your ally.

And the best defense is a good offense. Strike hard and fast at the enemy and keep them off balance so they cannot cross the ocean to get to you.

    • If you know when they are coming and have some idea of where they are landing, stacks of two or three higher level submarine squadrons can be devastating against unescorted convoys of ground units approaching your shores.

Are you lucky enough to have opponents who are foolish enough to send their invasion forces to sea without proper escorts? If so, it may be your lucky day to turn a disastrous invasion of your core territories into a game-ending rout of your enemies.

If you are unfamiliar with the "reveal all armies" function under the espionage menu, I suggest you learn about it quickly. It costs 1,650 gold units, or the equivalent of less than $1 (U.S.). It's the best use of gold in Call of War -- knowledge is power, my friend.

oh. Better find someone else to advise you then. I have never been able to stay awake through that whole map. :P

    • As has been suggested already, a naval blockade/chain is you best option. Place submarines along the coast to guard the accesses to your country.

Personally however, I would suggest to place your naval blockade closer to your coast, and move your rockets to cities (with air bases) on the shore so that your subs and ships are in reach of your rockets. That way, when your opponent's troops get intercepted by your subs, you can also bombard them with your rockets.

Finally, maybe place a few fortresses on select strategic points, such as coastal cities placed on the way to your capital, on that link to other cities, etc. Try to figure out the most likely point(s) of entry your enemy will try and fortify them accordingly. Also, maybe produce a fast intervention force (for example light tanks or tac bombers) with which you can quickly move along the coast to intercept any enemy forces that slip past your defenses.

Also, seek to gain intel on your enemy : use spies and try to find out his troop numbers and locations, and send out a few fast ships like destroyers to find his troop convoys before they reach your shores.

      Good luck !
