Years ago I played PBM Diplomacy. In those games you would submit your first three choices for countries to play to the game moderator. These would then be used to assign counties. Most people would end up with first or second choice, rarely would it go further down the line.
Just somethng to think about, I always seem to end up in the middle of the map, which is not my favorite place to be.
Oh for those of you to young to remember PBM is (Play by Mail). We didn't have computers in those days.
