Players who enjoy answering questions and helping other players are encouraged to consider joining the support staff.

Bytro prides itself on a support staff that understands the players and the community by recruiting moderators and game operators from among the most active players. This leads to an understanding of issues and bugs that players report, and allows for the many languages that Call of War is available in to be moderated and supported by staff familiar with that language, and interested in the game.

The job of support staff is to answer questions of players and assist them with issues, and as such they need to be familiar with the game mechanics and operations, and have a fair level of experience with the game. Joining the support staff means taking on the responsibility for helping people when they need it, and being able to solve problems.

Moderators have the task of answering questions in help chat and the forum. We wish for the chat and forum to be a polite and civil environment in which all players can ask questions and interact with each other. To ensure that a few players do not ruin the experience of others there are a few simple rules that are enforced by the moderators as well.
This is a volunteer position, but there are a few requirements.

      • At least 18 years old.
      • You are active in game chat
      • You will be active on Forum
      • You have a skype account (we primarily use the text chat function to keep in touch with the support team )
      • Ability to communicate with users in a professional and mature manner
      • You are a friendly person not driven by ego or titles
      • You have game experience and have a fairly good understanding of game mechanics (you do not need to be perfect we are all still learning)
      • Ability to work well in a team.
      • Willingness to learn
      • Ability to work efficiently and be reliable.

If you can fulfill these job requirements please apply by opening a private forum conversation with Dr. Leipreachan, VorlonFCW, Stormbringer50, and PrinceofHonor

Your application should contain the following:
      • Why do you want to join the support staff team
      • Have you previous experience in Support/Moderation from another game
      • How well do you know the game mechanics
      • Why should you be selected
      • Age?

A Moderator position is the entry level position for the support staff. After some experience as a Moderator you may have the opportunity to advance to Game Operator. Game operators investigate bugs and answer support tickets. The game operators have a few tools to resolve issues such as resetting a server, however the majority of bug reports are simply a misunderstanding of the game mechanics. As we wish for players to have a pleasant experience within the game there are some basic rules for behavior towards other players. Game Operators also enforce the in-game rules.

    • But, what exact level is the lowest to join as moderator/operator? Is there a expectation? How do you admit them?

    • We look for a combination of player rank and time playing that indicates understanding the game. Some players learn faster than others so there is not a fixed minimum. Moderators need to have a thorough understanding of the basic game mechanics and be able to answer questions, instead of still learning and asking questions about the game. Of course there is always more to learn about the game as well. The people who are successful as moderators are the ones who enjoy sharing their knowledge, and are not the ones who are eager for additional powers.

We also look for moderators who are polite, responsible, and patient. The job of a moderator is to interact with all players in chat and the forum and assist them in a professional manner. Dealing with people requires a lot of patience and requires moderators that can do the job without reacting in an improper manner.

Lastly moderators need to be able to follow directions. There are policies and procedures that need to be followed properly. As a part of the team everyone needs to work together and follow the same procedure. The support staff can be a fast paced environment at times so we don't have time to explain how to handle certain things over and over again.
