use swarms of level 4 rockets instead of nuclear weapons.

I may have to try this. Rarely do I get to build nuke missiles, if I even build them at all

    • This guide about Nukes is good ..
.. I just wanted to mention why I've always preferred level 4 rockets instead of Nukes ..

.. researching Nukes takes very long and costs more then 30.000 Rares additional to the research of level 4 rockets (20.000 Rares) which is needed anyway ..
.. then of cource a reactor is needed that costs 10.000 Rares again (and reactors stir fears and reactor-provinces are therefore often target of sabotage spies) ..
.. lastly building only one Nuke requires 10.000 Rares again ..

.. for all that rare material which is needed in addition to the research of level 4 rockets one could already produce 100 conventional rockets instead of just one Nuke, and of course much earlier in the game (the therefore needed metal should not matter [maybe a total of 2-3 daily productions], peanuts, measured by the more than 50.000 needed Rares we save) ..

.. all in all 100 level 4 rockets have far more fighting power than a single nuclear rocket and this power can be dosed individually and distributed as needed ..
.. and every additional nuke costs Rares compared to 20 conventional rockets ..
.. so with level 4 rockets you can often already have beaten your enemies or at least under control before they are even done with Nukes research.

Of course you can, if you can, also research (and maybe produce) Nukes at the same time, but I see them primarily as a strategic weapon, a mental menace -- and for that you must not even research the bomb >> build reactor/s would be enough.

    • One thing you haven't mentioned about all those rockets, and that nukes have an advantage on: oil.
Rockets actually are fairly thirsty for the black stuff.
But then comes the comparison, 60k rare vs. Daily oil usage. Well...

A thing to remember with nukes is that they destroy/damage everything in range. your enemy, your allies and your own troops. (or they did last time I fired one (oops)).
If only this was posted much, much earlier (I literally killed off a 12-18 unit flotilla of mine with my own nuke).
wait then what did the front reports say (js curious) did it say like: "nuclear attack on xxxxxxx province! (in which u destroyed ur own units)"
One day there will be no more wars

Defending Against a Nuclear Bomber Due to the nature of a nuclear bomber, being unable to be escorted by fighters and having only 30 HP, it can be shot down easily when attacking directly.

Fighters- Using 5-7 fighters, you can usually take down 1 nuclear bomber in 1 shot. Also, you can patrol these over a stack, unit, or city you wish to protect.

Anti-Air- These units are a must if any of your enemies have aircraft. You would need 5-7 of Anti-aircraft, leveled up, to defeat one nuclear bomber without it being able to detonate. For maximum AA fire, try using 5 anti-air units and 5 SP Anti-air in one stack.

Keep out of Range- While simple, this is the only sure way not to get hit with a nuclear bomber.
Nice guide! ... In a game I played South Africa in 39 map, I only faced Nuclear bombers twice in one game (> day 28) vs a level 100 player with Germany ... I got lucky both times in that a single AA in the target city knocked down his nuclear bombers! ... Meanwhile, he nuked several cities of a player that had Japan ... Anyhow, Germany won the game solo by number of VP's ... 8)

It destroyed an enemy army of around 30 units, so it was reported as that. It was only when I discovered my flotilla was missing that I pieced two and two together. Apparently in CoW, no one reports friendly fire.

I know that a lot of player are a fan of nuclear weapons, much of them are beginners. I am not a fan at all and i'll explain why.

      - The research of nuclear takes long and costs a lot: note that most games end in 40 days, I've never played a game that lasted longer then 40 days, not even a 100 player map. Conclusion: there's a high probability that you won't be able to use them.

      - Nuclear bomber level 1 are very weak and not worth the investment. If you want to make it interesting to get return of investment they need to be at level 3. You are not sure that your nuclear bomber will arrive because they can get shot down easily by interceptors or Anti Air. losing your bomber after such an investment of time and resources is a huge loss.

      - You will make yourself a target: when your neighbors and enemies see that you have a nuclear reactor and airbases level 3 they will attack you. Don't be surprised when every player teams up on you.

      - While you waste time and research on nuclear technology you can't research in the infantry, armor and air branch. In the meantime i'll have heavily invested in those ground and air units. My units will be stronger and my army larger and I will destroy your inferior army with my superior forces you before you ever have the chance to use nuclear.

      - The only interesting and powerful nuclear attack weapon is the rocket but that you can only research after day 40, again it is very uncertain that you will still be alive at day 40 to use it. You will either be destroyed or the victory will be won with your coalition.
I’ll probably use it to kill enemies coming from the sea as convoys, the only time I’m researching nukes instead of lvl 3 (not lvl4 b cause I no blueprints) is when I’m playing USA in 1939 historic world war.
As the American continent is quite easy to Attack (except for Brazil), there is no need for missile or nuke use.

sadly, I don’t have any blueprints for that
