    • The August game was set with a one day AI peace period and a 3 day player peace period.

Day one passed quietly with just the sound of construction as players built barracks and infrastructure

Day 2 and Day 3 passed with vigorous annexation of neighboring AI countries. Plans were set in motion to open avenues of attack and fortify defenses once enemies plans were made apparent.

Players raced to finish off the AI in order to be prepared for the real war to start on Day 4.

    • With the end of the player peace period on day 4 it was time to see if the plans would survive contact with the enemy.

With intense action on all fronts the map in the newspaper is simply a collection of fire, and it is hard to determine anything from it.

Team 6 ended up in the cross hairs of 3 teams, who each wanted to claim a portion of their lands. This was evident the day prior as Maine raced through New York consuming the AI and setting up a thrust into Pennsylvania, Alabama stretched

North and South Carolina pushed north into Virginia in full force. This was the bloodiest battle of day 4.
Casualties since the beginning of this war:
      Virginia - 23,370
      North Carolina - 11,780

Meanwhile Missouri and Iowa paced at the perimeter of Indiana, awaiting an opening.

In the Carribean, East Texas attempted a daring invasion of Florida by Sea. East Texas did manage to capture 3 provinces, but the casualties were fairly high in the process.
Casualties since the beginning of this war:
      Florida - 467
      East Texas - 4,961

A fierce war of maneuver was waged in the heartland, Missouri and Arkansas traded the provinces of Blytheville, Conway, and Clarksville several times during the day.

The west and northwest fronts appeared to be less eventful, with the teams having dug in and taking potshots at each other rather than maneuvering and advancing.

      More to come tomorrow.
