Unit Lost

    • On the mobile version (don’t play pc so not sure there), when you lose a unit, you get a notification. It’s usually some odd unit number like BQ 4 or some such designation. Selecting the notification does not snap you to the area or give you any other clues to what unit was destroyed. There is no way anyone is remembering all those designations, especially without a unit list similar to the list of cities you own.
It would be nice to have the ability to either have the ability to name all the individual units or at the very least having the notification snap to the map location where the unit was destroyed, similar to the way it does when you select the notification when a new unit is built.
Too many times I get a unit lost notification and have no idea where I actually lost the troop. It’s very frustrating.

    • On PC, you can look in the Newspaper and it tells you details, Province, unit type. If lost as sea, it's very general like "North Pacific". Other than that, it's easy to keep track of what you've been losing and what enemy unit did the killing.

Here's a snippet (I'm doing the killing if you have to ask)

12:25 am The 127th Anti Tank Regiment (Colombia) has captured Ujjain.
12:43 am The 72nd Anti Tank Regiment (Colombia) has captured Hissar.
12:49 am At-Bashy: The 33rd Rocket Battery (North India) (EW 33) has been destroyed by the 68th Fighter Wing (Colombia).
12:53 am The 71st Anti Tank Regiment (Colombia) has captured Baroda.
1:04 am North India: A Railroadgun has been destroyed by the 68th Fighter Wing (Colombia).
1:19 am The Railroadgun "Bofors 190mm" (North India) has been destroyed by the 68th Fighter Wing (Colombia).
1:19 am Frunze: The 21st Railroadgun Battalion (North India) (EW 21) has been destroyed by the 68th Fighter Wing (Colombia).
1:21 am The 137th Armored Car Brigade (Colombia) has captured Gorakhpur.
1:40 am The 24th Light Tank Brigade (Colombia) has captured At-Bashy.
2:41 am The 60th Light Tank Brigade (Colombia) has captured Patna.
2:47 am Shazia: The 22nd Fighter Squadron (North India) (EW 22) has been destroyed by the 160th Fighter Wing (Colombia).
2:49 am The 127th Anti Tank Regiment (Colombia) has captured Khandwa.
2:51 am The 137th Armored Car Brigade (Colombia) has captured Hariyon

    • Yes, true. Call of War should tell us where we lost our units. Maybe Call of War should tell us 1st Infantry unit is destroyed other than BQ1 which is really confusing. Just to let you know, it also happens in PC so don't worry, there are much more people that support you. Yes, you can name some of the big units (eg. Battleship, Nukes, Rail Road gun et.) You cannot name basic units. I do not think it is necessary to name it, because the unit name now are pretty cool.

Question: I have all my units named from eg. BQ1-BQ20, when BQ5 is destroyed, do they use that number again when you produce a new unit, or do they go straight to 21?

    • The notifications are intended to be a brief summary. As always the complete details are found in the newspaper.

    • The game newspaper shows units lost in several ways. Look for the battle results that are listed like this:

And it clearly shows the province, the unit name, and what did the destruction. The province name is clickable so that will bring you to that location.

For a complete list of units lost, there will also be an article like this:

Which lists all of your units lost in most cases. In some cases with multiple simultaneous losses they are not all listed individually. You will need to compare the timestamp and unit ID with the other article if you are completely confused.

Now in the case you don't know how to find something: You can always use the search feature by holding Ctrl and pressing F. This will allow you to search for units by ID number, or for provinces.

All unit groups are issued a designation consisting of a letter code and a number. Your letter code indicates your country. You can find it by selecting a unit.

In this case you see that the 1st Anti Air Regiment (Germany) is designated group A1

So if you want to find the group that is listed last in the newspaper article above: The 8th Artillery Division, you are looking for group A8. Simple press Ctrl F, and type in A8, and press enter.

And your screen will become centered on that unit with that unit selected, so that you can quickly give orders to it.

Yes, numbers are reused whenever units are produced, merged, or split.
