there should be a game mode that is focused on medevial. provninces are villages and fortifications are castles that boost defense. infantry are still infantry but they have spears and chainmail. knights would be tanks. and calvary motorised and mechanised infantry. comandos are rangers and anti tank ballista. artillery is trebuchte and the anti air and air are not needed. heavy tanks are cannons and a new weapon is siege towers (slow but have no defense and a realy high building damage. a garrison is a barracks and the manor is the capital. the factory is a factory but the infrastructure is a battle school. the boats would be boats but wooden. the battleship is a Galley, a aircraft carrier is a knarr, a transport ship is a cog, a destroyer a balinger, and a sub the famous longship. sp artillery are sheilded trebuchtes and mongenels are rockets. finally archers would be added in between militia and infantry and are given a boost in range when on a prov with a castle.
