    • Hi, how is it unfair for tactical bomber be in an aircraft carrier? Do you think they are suppose to do that at Level 1? If you are thinking about that, that is generally not possible as they are big and needs to be modified and cannot carry full weight and should decrease damage counter when in aircraft carrier. If you are thinking that it shouldn't be implemented, that is not historically accurate as you want things to be historically accurate in another post regarding new maps and I think this shall apply here too.

      Well, not really. The "tactical bomber" category in CoW also includes the close air support planes of WW2 (dive bombers, fighters with added bombs or rockets, etc). These could be well operated from carriers, even early in the war (just ask the people of Pearl Harbor how effective they could be!), though quantities would typically be low compared to ground based aircraft (high profile land battelfields would see hundreds, sometimes thousands of aircraft operational overhead; carriers could just carry dozens).

      Personally, I wouldn't mind of the L4 requirement was decreased to L2 (or L3 as a compromise ;) )

      AA guns were primitive and ineffective in this era. Sure they did some damage, but ships in general were very vulnerable to air attack. After the disaster of the Prince of Wales and Repulse: (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_Prince_of_Wales_and_Repulse)
      all navies kept their ships out of reach of enemy planes if they couldn't provide air cover for them.
