Dive bombers have already been added. In 1.5, they are called attack bombers. Anti tank units also exist, as well as artillery. The only units that don’t exist are units that don’t have an equivalent in other doctrines.
Yes, but im saying FIELD artillery, not normal artillery. also there are way more, i am a WWII nerd, know a bit about it. You see, things like the Battle Cruiser, Heavy/Light cruiser, Half-Trucks, assault guns, Assault Vehicles, Mortars (Soviets, Germans and french as well as others had giant mortars), fighter bombers, Floating Tanks, ETC (lots of etc)i was also SEVERLY disappointed about fortifications on CoW. in real life, youd have coastal guns, pillarboxes, tunnels, etc. CoW has 1 type of fort intended for all. in REAL life there would be specific defences according to units
    Part 2:

Floating tanks would just be obliterated by ships and subs. If you want to boost the landing speed, research more levels on the transport ship. For the mortars, we already have a unit called the rail road gun as mentioned before, as it has the biggest range in game. Assault vehicles, we have armored cars and mech infantry as well.

Having more specialized units/buildings would make the game more complex and/or already have their role taken by another unit (i.e giant mortars to railroad guns and half-tracks to mech infantry).

Ultimately, we have those types of units under umbrellas per se: SPGs as assault guns, a LOT of units in a form of a halftrack, fighters and bombers as separate entities, and forming an army that can also fight against the navy (railroad guns and arty can deal with navy with help of air force and forts.)

New unit idea that I have: ship raiders!
Ship raider can attack ships, like those modern day Somali pirates

unit production cost : 1k food, 2.5 goods

What need to produce : barracks level 3, and an a naval base
     :) ;) :P ^^ :D
Just to bring this forum back to what it was made about.

What about we have patrol boats? They did exist.

They can be like a militia of boats but extremely fast and mainly focused on ships.
But courage which goes against military expediency is stupidity, or, if it is insisted upon by a commander, irresponsibility.

Like I said to Grand Empire; it still falls under the umbrella of units we have. Low level destroyers have the mobility/ defensive characteristics like a patrol boat. This can also correlate to militia, as their primary use is for defense also.

Just wondering, If destroyers deal more attacking damage than defending damage how do they perform better defensively?

Because like patrol boats you use them for interception, not for holding a position.

For navy, the "defending damage" is rarely used except vs submarine or if someone wants a fleet "stopped" since well you shoot at the opponent at range.

The problem with adding trouble boat is that :
    - They would not really had a purpose, destroyers are already super cheap and patrol boat historically lose vs, well, everything this game has
    - Patrol boat can't go on high seas nor cross the Atlantic so the game would have to define "coastal sea" and "high sea", only for one unit,

    Not worth it.
  • Can we just change name from Interceptor to fighter

better defense stats than attack stats
Just wondering how that would work. Don't planes use attack stats when patrolling?

Perhaps the heavy fighters could be called 'fighters' while the interceptors are still called interceptors.

Another name for the attack bomber is the "strike fighter."
    Yeah.
In some languiges strike fighter is called heavy fighter, or fighter-bomber, or bombfighter, huntbomber (in that case mean hunter = fighter) and so on.
Fighter is class of aircrafts wich most diverse kinds of targets. Depend on weoponary of fighter it can be used as ASF or as strike fighter.

    @imperialtiger4
no we dont need escort units with higher defencive AA stats then attacking AA stats of ASF. There are 5% till 10 players who call themself "pro" and misuse this for so called exploit of swarming taktik. (so called exploit = legel cheat, with cheat from oxford english, mean use of any edge).

Also if you have no idea about game ballance, please stop post any disballanced suggestions.

    Thank you.
