Remember this date. November 13th 2015. A day when disaster rocked the world.
Late last night, Paris was attacked. Attacked once again, by ISIS. 120 innocent Parisians and other nationalities, have been slaughtered in cold blood, several of the barbaric gunmen have been killed and President Hollande has deployed the armed forces to the streets of Paris. Now I like a French joke now and then but in respect for those killed, for the next week I will make no jibes towards our neighbours.
Stay strong France.
But also we must not forgot the innocents in Lebanon who were killed in bomb blasts in Beirut, 43 dead and over 200 injured, their lives scarred by this inhuman act, the bombing of the funeral in Baghdad, the earthquake in Mexico all stark reminders of how we may be safe in our homes and on our streets here, but in the blink of an eye that can all change
. Now we mustn't ignore the rest of the world. Think of the Kurdish and Peshmerga warriors fighting against the very brutes that have orchestrated these atrocities, respect their sacrifices they are making while risking their lives. Think about the pilots over Syria and Iraq whether they are Russian, US, British or French, they all could be killed while carrying out airstrikes and the risks they take to prevent more of this happening on a much worse scale..
Together we stand divided we fall. We are stronger and better than ISIS. We also have what they don't, each other.
