    • Convoys has Good Defence?

I have a Troop Convoy of 11, 6 tank 1 AA 4 infantry and a destroyer attacked them, just one. and now I lost around 4 units but they have almost killed the destroyer.

Is this right? And if so how would a convoy defend it self against naval ships without real naval ships. I don't believe some Panzer 1s and others troops could really kill a destroyer. Can someone explain this plz thanks
    • I'm not sure if it's right. I'm not sure if the developers' idea of a convoy includes escort ships or not. 'Cos if it doesn't, then why the hell give the convoys any defense at all? Unless the defense values represent AMCs, of course, but they didn't even have depth charges. It is all very confusing.
The past is a foreign country.
    • This is a new game, there are many inconsistencies , it may be a year to repair if there are more players . For example, no unit would be to have the capability to shoot down the planes or many small way, for example 10 infrantri units can deal little damage to 1 tactical bombers just AA can do this . That will force the players to not only developed one branch of tech tree. And finally, even convoy were 100 units can not cause minor damage to a warship and so will force the players to not send the convoys without protection .
    • First point I would like to address is there are several type of bombers. Tactical bombers as we are talking in this case are different than strategic bombers which was what Germany used a lot during early WW2 bombings without losses. Targeting railways/harbours/industrial districts was the primary idea rather than directly targeting military targets.

Now as for infantry vs tactical bombers, you have to realize that infantry doesn't just mean boots with rifles. You have mounted machine guns just as a single example of what might be included in "infantry". And at the same time, tactical bombing is not something done from high altitudes. In fact the process of tactical bombing is usually dive bombing the target to increase accuracy of the bombs dropped. So is it most definitely plausible to think that infantry would have the ability to return fire to air craft as they ran low altitude bombing runs at a sharp angle to the ground.

Does anyone know the exact stats of a convoy. We know that they do have a defensive naval value, and their speed is universally 27. Anyone know if they can be attacked at sea while disembarking (whatever going from sea to land again is).
i came across somewhere that their defense stats are 1/5 of normal while at sea

That seems unlikely. If only because most ground units have 0 attack vs. subs and naval, and 1/5 of 0 is 0.

1/5 Of land stats values for defense
