    • Choosing Doctrines

A new feature I think should be added is the ability to choose what doctrine you want to play with. Currently if you wanted to play with the pan-asian doctrine you had to play in asia. But what if I wanted pan-asian in North or South America? It isn't possible. and the same goes if I wanted Axis doctrine in Asia.
    • Like Riverwolf said, this has been suggested before. The reason it hasn’t been implemented is this:

For example, let's say Country B has the Allies doctrine, and Country A, who is AI, has Comintern. Country B and Country A go to war, and Country B decides to mass produce weak units to overwhelm Country A, as Comintern countries have cheaper production, but they are weaker. Suddenly, a player joins and chooses country A, and switches to the Axis doctrine. They have produced many troops, because they are cheap, but they were previously weak. Now, they have become powerful, as that is the Axis doctrine strength. Country B will stand no chance.

As you can see, it is more fair to have fixed doctrines.

    • Correct but this would only be possible on day 1 or 2. By choosing the doctrine at the beginning of the game sets your own playstyle for the rest of the round. there is no going back and forth. if someone in south america wants to play with pan-asian or allied then they should be able to choose too.

And it wouldn't break the game because certain regions in game now would all be the same. it wouldn't matter if someone chose another doctrine on day 1 or not because each doctrine has their own strengths to play by.
    • People can join up to day 8. By that time, a player can choose a strategy and be extremely deep into it, to the point where it is a waste of resources and troops to back out and choose a different one.

    • In addition to what DR1 has said,

allowing this possibility would require the doctrines be chosen prior to the game start. The starting units and economy is based on the doctrine. Allowing a doctrine choice would mean that units of one doctrine may be mixed with a different doctrine after the user makes a choice. With the current game creation system this is not technically possible at the present time.
