It is a pain when your unit finds and enemy stack, identifies what is in it, and as soon as it moves out of range, you no longer know what is there unless you take a screen image and save it somewhere. Surely the player has a "Naval Staff" to remember just this sort of information. As soon as you spot something it should be added to the Intel you have about other players and stay persistent until next day change just like spy intel.


This is particularly pertinent in 1.5 where you get close to a province and see what is in it and as soon as you move out of range you forget what is there
