Currently, 1.5 has a frontage (how many units can fight) of 10, whatever unit type and terrain.
It has several problems in my opinion, one is that it is not clear which units are really fighting, and that combats are pretty slow when massive armies interact..
Given we have :
- A brand new UI
- Hill / Forest split
- A split between light armor and heavy amor
I would propose that
- Units of different types (infantry (including AT/AA) / light / heavy) each have their own "maximum" in a stack
- Each terrain has its own maximum by unit type,
For instance, example , for infantry / light / heavy,
Plains would have 20/20/20
Hills would have 15/15/10
Forest would have 10/5/2
Mountains would have 5/2/1
Cities would have 20/10/5
Number to discuss, etc. This would allow a small group of "weak" units to have a delaying action in some terrain against mega stack, even though they can't win in the end. It would also push even more players to mix light and heavy armors
