    • Artillery and rocket artillery spam make more than 2 stacks of 10 arty. Then attack same target. Damaged units can be attacked by bombers, and judging the composition of the stack i'd suggest you also can rush with med tanks, 10-20 of them. Overall i suggest you follow combined arms to take it out.

    • Rocket artillery and AT gun.

Artillery is strong vs armor, and (relatively) weak against unarmored. Rocket artillery is the opposite.

Level 3 artillery of Pan Asian is I think 3.2 damage vs unarmored, so 32 for the bunch of them
Level 2 rocket artillery (I assume we are a bit passed day 6) is 6 damage versus unarmored, so 60 for the bunch of them.

Pan Asian artillery also has 18 HP, vs 25 for (non-Asian) Rocket Artillery.

Of course, there are 405 HP of Light Tank and +/- 230 HP of Armored Car, + 180 HP of AA.

Well, this means you need to buff your own stack with unarmored. 10 AT tank is fine, and cheap. That's 300 HP. Also bring let's say 300 HP of militia or infantry. You have 900 HP total for a much lower value than your opponent, he has a bit less than 1 000 HP

      Two things happen :

      - Artillery battle. Let's assume you are smart enough not to engage the enemy when he is on hills, because well Pan-Asian. So every turn he is doing 32 damage, and every turn you are doing between 45 (if you hit all " light armored) and 60 (if hitting all "unarmored"). Let's say 52, so basically +60% damage.

      - If he comes to you, you can start by shooting at what was left behind as artillery for added value, then "receive" the opponent : 96 damage from your AT. On his side, the tanks bring 75 damage.

At this point, you hold position and don't attack. If he separated the AA from the artillery, then you can toast the artillery, "killing" more than 3 each round (and you can probably shoot twice before the other side connect).
If he did not separate the AA from the artillery, you shoot at the mobile guys with your own RA while trying to be out of range with your rocket artillery from his artillery (easy : you are marginally faster), so really you will chew through his 635 HP faster than he will chew through your 600 HP.

At the end of the battle, your 30-strong units is badly damaged, but it is there.

    • I even did the calculation about the "investment necessary" :

It looks like you destroy his stack while investing only 3/4 of his resource, though not the same distribution. I find Oil the most precious of all resources (because planes), Rare Materials the second most precious (because planes also), and steel more important than food or crates, so qualitatively this is a really good trade.

You could certainly pull it off by replacing the infantry by AA, so you consume less food but more steel - you ll end up with way less stuff surviving though.

    • I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Don't try to destroy it; evade it, and take back the land it moves through with fast mobile units. In the meantime, since all his power is concentrated here, you are free to take all his other possessions.

So he ends up being a huge army, owning one province at a time.

That's also an option, but I like the "what's the smallest force your can use to safely remove that threat" challenge.

I would need to run formulas, but you can PROBABLY pull through with less than 10 "extra unit to receive damage", and even maybe with less than 10 RA.

Really? I always have a large surplus of rares... And I use planes btw.
Let me guess, in general you WOULD build more planes but you are limited by oil first right ?

In my experience, rare materials is rarely the limiting resource because :
      - For industrialization, you need as much oil as you need RM. Let's forget it.
      - For navy, you need a standard amount of oil
      - For light-armored land force (and mot.), you need either a standard or a small amount of oil
      - For heavy armor, you need a large amount of oil and a standard amount of RM
      - For planes, you need a standard amount of oil and a large amount of RM
      - For RRG, you need a large amount of oil and a large amount of RM, we can forget it as well.
      - For RA, you need a large amount of RM and a standard amount of oil if you want it mobile.

Let's count "small amount" as 0.5, normal amount at 1 and large amount at 2.

For a normal game where you have a balance between heavy armors, light armor+mot, planes and navy (25% each), you are going to use 5.0 in oil and 3.0 in RM - oil is going to be your limiting factor.
If like me you do very few heavy armor, you are still going to be at 3.0 for oil and 2.0 for RM - oil still limiting.

You are going to be short in RM if three of those four conditions are true :
      - No navy
      - Building Rocket Artillery - not everyone does really, and if they do they usually like it mobile.
      - Heavier on planes than usual (let's say twice)
      - Few heavy armors

If you accumulate the 4 factors, you end up with
      For oil :1 [Light-armor] + 2x1 [planes] + 1 [mobile RA] = 4
      For RM : 2x2 [planes] + 2 [mobile RA] = 6

So yeah, you can drop one factor :).

It is a super synthetic // simplified model, but it explains why in most cases you need oil more than RM, so you have the impressions of having more RM than needed.

Anti air always stays alive until the end, they are pretty resistance.
I can't bombard them with artillery because he has 10 artillery in a stack of 40.

That's still a lot of manpower for fodder units that you will lose not to mention that rockets are single use. I like the idea of 10 RRG better.

He meant rocket artillery, not rocket rocket. Hence the mention of fodder unit.

10 RRG alone (without the escort so the tanks don't just catch you) is more expensive in steel, oil, rare materials (obviously) than their whole stack. It only "saves" on supply and food [the least valuable resource, though arguably it saves you a lot in supply], but if you bring escort you are probably going to only save on supply.

Pro of course is that if you micro perfectly, you ll have 10 RRG in, and 10 RRG out.
