Heyo! @whowh @K.Rokossovski @Karl von Krass you all know what this is about from the thread Fiction. The rest of you... do what you like.

      The Titanic War- 1914~1918
The Titanic War was the result of intense military, economic and ideological rivalry between the great powers of the Westland. The deterioration of relations began in 1903, with the disastrous War of the Noran Recreation. The Pegronian Union developed unprecedented hate for the Norans, and the Westland was shocked by the Creation of the Red Union in 1904, mirroring the Noran Union. Its ideology was unacceptable by the Armstris and Pegronians, and both nations interests were threatened by its creation. Both had hoped to grab swathes of land in the destabilisation following the War of the Noran Recreation, but instead were slapped in the face with the creation of a great power.
Relations continued to go south in the next years. The URI won an astounding victory in the War of 1904, giving it absolute control over the surrounding region. The Nation also became communist like the Red Union, and allied itself with the Red Union. A naval arms race began between the Armstris Empire and Red Union, which made a naval conflict virtually inevitable. In 1910, the slow annexation of the Blacklands by the Armstris saw Lesotho join the Noran/Inamortan Alliance. Beeth and Anglia, while both puppets of the Armstris, had populations extremely anti-Armstris, the same applied to Azernia.
The West Pact or Entente Pact, formed between Mesra, Pegronian Union, Dora and the Armstris Empire was very fractured. By 1912, both Dora and Mesra had virtually left the pact, and the Pegronians and Armstris only remained allies due to a common enemy. In 1913, Dora virtually dismantled its armed forces, making its entry into a war impossible. Meanwhile the URI created the West League, a formal and strong alliance between its puppets, itself, the Red Union and Lesotho.
The final straw that sparked the Titanic War began with the Blacklands Uprisings. Beeth, Anglia, Azernia all revolted against the Armstris. This was a great insult to the nation, Fu Hong having said centuries before that “Our flawless Empire does these nations a great favour by not fully occupying them and wiping out their populace.” Anglia, Beeth and Azernia were all fully occupied, and somewhat following Fu Hong’s words, the Azernian Genocide began. Following these events, Lesotho and the URI ordered partial mobilisation, encouraged by the Red Union. The tensions became unbearable, and hell broke loose when the Inamortans entered some military assets into Azernia to “save the populace from extermination.”
This action was due to bolstering Inamortan confidence, and was meant to start a war. The Red Union assured them that it would join in any war, and the Inamortans saw their chance upon Dora’s demilitarization. So the act was simply an excuse to spark a war and not be blamed, so as to stop international intervention. The resulting war was unprecedented in the carnage it caused and destabilised the world.
“First Line” trench, filled with Inamortan men.

The Armstris Empire declared war upon the URI February 3rd, the Red Union on the 5th and all of the URI’s puppets on the 6th, Lesotho on the 8th. The Red Union declared war on the Armstris Empire on the 5th and the Pegronian Union on the 6th. The Titanic War had begun, and it would become one of the greatest conflicts of the 20th century.

      Technology of war in 1914
The planning and conduct of war in 1914 were crucially influenced by the invention of new weapons and the improvement of existing types since the past wars. The chief developments of the intervening period had been the Self-Propelled Artillery and the Rapid Fire Rocket Artillery, as well as the Devastators. The Red Union was the inventor of the RF Rocket Artillery, but it had infant versions only, for example the H.3. Meanwhile the Armstris Empire possessed the greatest Devastator Fleet, 300 Emperor Class Devastators. The Armstris were also the only nation to produce SP Artillery, a new kind of mechanized artillery that “rained death upon tanks”. These technologies would be prime factors in the outcome of the war.

The Initial Stages of the War
      Initial strategies
      The Ember Plan
The Ember Plan was the initial Inamortan plan for a lightning victory over the Armstris First Colonies. General Richton Ember oversaw the planning in the months leading up to the war. The attack was to compromise of 25 infantry divisions (250,000 men), 10 armoured divisions (3,000 tanks and armoured cars), 500 Artillery pieces and 800 planes. The Inamortan forces would sweep south and wipe out the weak Armstris Garrison in Free Azernia, and then dismantle her ownership of Occupied Azernia. The Plan’s failure would not matter, since if the offensive was stopped or pushed back, the Inamortans were not in danger due to the buffer space provided by their puppets the Eastern Alliance and Tropia.
However, the war came sooner than expected and only 12 infantry divisions were available. The Inamortan generals panicked, not wanting to fight advanced Armstris equipment that would arrive to reinforce the enemy soon, and so launched a badly coordinated offensive all the same. The result was disastrous. 7 infantry divisions were cut off and encircled, 5 others were decimated. It was a major Armstris victory in the first few months of the war. Despite this, the Armstris could not seize the initiative. Not enough resources or manpower was available, and so they settled in for defence.

The Strategy of the Pegronian Front
When war broke out, the Pegronians were increasingly nervous. Their naval prowess was completely unhinged, and their air force was inferior. Their only condolence was the fact that they were an island, therefore harder to attack. In fact, the Pegronian Union was caught completely off guard. It had actually began considering leaving the Western Pact, and somehow missed the hints of war. Luckily for the Pegronians, the Norans did not know this.
Nora had had its heart torn out by the Pegronian Union many times before in history. Therefore, the Red Union had an irrational fear of the Pegronians. In reality, a quick Noran assault would have decimated the Union. But due to overestimation, the Pegronians managed to pull together. Each side on the front had different strategies:
      The Pegronian Plan One
Plan One outlined an invasion of the Red Union. However, it was different to the other Pegronian invasions. Instead of attempting to punch through a wide eastern front with Nora, it would focus on poorly defended Wintonia. Over 130 divisions were to land there, with the Union putting all its hopes on this offensive. The date was set for 1915 April 22nd, and the Pegronian high command believed the URI would be neutralised by then, securing his invasion force’s western/southern flank.
      The Red Union Red Fortress

Whilst Pegronia planned an offensive, the Norans were focused on the defensive. Red Fortress had begun with the Iron City in 1909, and was now a formidable line of Fortress Cities and defensive positions along the coast. The navy was also ordered to be vigilant and remain in port. However, Wintonia was ignored just as the Pegronians hoped, and it housed virtually no Red Union troops or defensive structures, except the weak Wintonia Republic National Guard, a small force of 35,000 ill-equipped men. The coast near Norso was also significantly reinforced, but there some plans were laid for an offensive.

    • The Battles of Ponso

On March 1st some 7 Armstris divisions arrived to reinforce General Hog’s (Commander of Armstris Azernian Forces) position. Almost all of his superiors called for a defensive plan, instead Hog saw rightfully how exposed the Inamortans were. Multiple divisions had been decimated in February, and the Inamortans had no air or armour assets (lesser so than even the Armstris). So Hog boldly launched the March Offensive the moment reinforcements arrived.

The March Offensive was incredibly successful in its initial stages. 80,000 Inamortans were defeated at Dune, another 120,000 captured. Hog met no resistance for a week, until finally on the 8th of March his offensive was stopped at Ponso. Ponso was a small city just before the Armstris objective, Regentville, which was a major industrial city, a big producer of raw materials and tanks. Hog hoped to punch through Ponso with ease, but he was wrong. 46,000 men died on the first assault, and soon information came of 170,000 Inamortans manning the fortress city. Hog was exasperated, his flanks were dangerously exposed, and his air assets all but destroyed. On the 10th he exclaimed, “I do not care how many die, my armies may disappear and I would not mind, but I need to take Ponso and Regentville!”. So on the 12th he sent 130,000 Armstris men to take Ponso at all cost in the First Battle of Ponso, no artillery or planes available for a siege.

The result of such a wasteful attack was woeful communication between the First Colonies and the Home Island. The command was split into two, the Colonial Command and Main Command. In fact, news of the March offensive only reached Hongum on the 11th, and the Main Command was annoyed to say the least. They were planning for an offensive against Lesotho to knock it out of the war, and this news meant all their planning was for nothing. However, some land had been gained, and not all seemed lost. But Hog had woefully underestimated the Lesotho Forces.

The First Battle of Ponso began on the morning of the 12th of March, and in a day cost the Armstris 17,000 men and the Inamortans 11,000. With few air and armoured assets on either side, the infantry had to engage in bloody attrition battles which favoured the defence. However, the Armstris forces were well equipped and elite men, and so despite heavy casualties 92% of Ponso was in Hog’s hands by the 17th. But he was oblivious to the Lesotho forces behind his back. Lesotho had marched through the neck of Azernia and hit the rear of Hog’s army, now cut off and surrounded. Hog was astonished and immediately realised how grave the situation was. He was about to lose some 130,000 men, and leave Azernia completely open to attack! He decided to hold the enemy for as long as possible, and consolidated in Ponso, his tactical reserve stripped of men.

The Second Battle of Ponso began on the 23rd of March. Surprisingly, the Lesotho forces while numbering over 200,000 were ill-equipped and exhausted. No tanks or planes were around either. So Hog managed to easily repel their attacks and moved north, hitting the Inamortans. Hog’s salvation came on the 25th, the Inamortans suddenly broke and surrendered, after some quick thinking he left 60,000 to check the Lesotho forces, and led 25,000 men to attack Regentville. He reached and took the city on the 27th, encountering no resistance. All along the front multiple small offensives were launched also to ease supply lines. Astonishingly the Lesotho army, exhausted and badly damaged surrendered despite its position on the 29th, thereby fixing Hog’s main problem. What he didn’t realise was that the URI had no armies at all in the entirety of the Eastern Alliance (Excluding EA Militia) The Armstris had missed a great opportunity, had armour been available the EA would be conquered in a few months. But that mattered not. 400,000 enemy men at least had been neutralized, Azernia was secure, Regentville captured and Lesotho proven to be weak. Hog would be promoted to Field Marshal (This was quite a leap in rank, but the Armstris Emperor himself had asked for it). Hog meanwhile created the fortified Hog’s Line after flattening the frontline, to repel any URI forces. He would later lead an assault against Lesotho.

    • Naval Battles February-March
When the war broke out, the navies of the two sides were well prepared, already waging undeclared war months before the actual war. The first major naval battle came on 1 AM February 23rd, when 7 Armstris Carriers, 85 Devastators, 32 destroyers, various other ships and 12 Battleships launched a sudden attack on Port Swan, where the entire Inamortan Navy was stationed. 1,500 planes of the Imperial Navy Air Force (INAF) attacked the 500 ships in port. The Inamortans were woefully unprepared, all land-based AA guns were disabled within minutes, and the ships were mainly unmanned. 7,000 Inamortans would die and 130 ships sunk (Mainly Torpedo Boats and outdated destroyers) after the first wave. The second wave came at 2:30 AM, this time 2,300 Armstris planes lurched at the enemy. 300 Inamortan planes, 9,000 men, and a further 180 ships (All of Inamorta’s outdated ships, as well as its only modern battleship, the Uson) would all be lost. After the third wave, the Armstris ships came forward and engaged the Inamortans, and 300 dive bombers kept wreaking havoc. By the time the raid had ended and the Armstris retreated, the Inamortan navy lay in ruins. Only 52 ships had escaped being crippled or sunk, and those were heavily damaged. No battleships survived, the URI’s only carrier was sunk. 600 planes were lost also, as well as 13,000 men. The Armstris losses were far less, 19 ships lost, 15 heavily damaged, 270 planes shot down and about 900 men gone. The so-called Knockout Raid would literally knock out the Inamortan Navy from the war. However, it would be the last major and easy Armstris naval victory. In the Grand Sea Route and the Noran eastern seas no naval action was recorded (excluding minor skirmishes), although the Norans were preparing for Operation Kraken, planning to cut up the Grand Sea Route and take its islands one by one, Kraken A aimed at Deval.

    • Assault on Lesotho- Operation Firestorm
Finally, on April the Second the now called Southern Front became mechanized. Inamortan planes were unwilling to combat their superior counterparts, and so were its Tanks. So the URI settled in, preparing for an offensive codenamed Scythe to break through Armstris held territory, planned for May. The Armstris had plans of their own- Operation Firestorm- to knock Lesotho out of the war. Hog thought just 330 tanks, 65,000 infantry men, and 1,500 artillery pieces, 200 planes as well as 15,000 elite ASF (Armstris Special Forces) men were enough to take Lesotho. So on the 5th he launched Operation Firestorm.
ASF Sappers stole over into Lesotho territory on the morning of the fifth, followed by the Armed Forces. Operation Firestorm would meet no resistance until it reached more urban territories. Om the 8th of April the Armstris met the Lesotho First Army, 150,000 men and no armoured vehicles, some 800 cannons. The result was an expected Armstris victory. Firestorm continued to obliterate Lesotho and its forces, until suddenly the entire offensive ground to halt on the 15th. Intelligence reported at least 60,000 well-equipped men, and most oddly, 250 tanks. Eventually it was realised that this force was from Nora, however the Norans had come too late.
Within Lesotho morale had plummeted. The government wanted an armistice when the Norans landed. They were not reinforcements, far from it. In fact, the Norans unofficially occupied the remainder of the nation. But they were not enough, Lesotho rose up in arms against the Norans, their forces were captured by Hog, an armistice was signed with the legal government later who pledged to send some economic support to the Armstris. Hog, after the armistice, returned his forces to the Regentville area.
By the 23rd the West League was in distress. In just four months an entire nation had been knocked out of the war, the URI navy was destroyed, advances made in the EA, and the League had had no victories to show for it. To try to gain some sort of victory, therefore, the URI moved up the date for Scythe. The Norans, meanwhile, decided to take the island of Deval at all cost, the first intrusion into the Grand Sea Route, in Kraken A.
