    • New Unit: Naval Infantry

Before the addition of paratroopers, the only elite infantry unit was commandos. Now, things have changed. Paratroopers can now be produced either as unembarked elite infantry or embarked paratroopers, which has been a game-changer. What comes next? Naval infantry.

Naval infantry will be a new unit that is, in some ways, similar to paratroopers. They will be able to deal the same amount of damage as paratroopers do, but they will have a special feature: while paratroopers can embark on planes and be sent to attack a target, naval infantry will be able to embark on ships and be sent to attack a target. At first glance, this might seem not much of a feature, as normal land units can already embark on ships. Naval infantry will be able to embark and disembark 3-4 times faster than normal land units, making them suitable for building an empire across the ocean or hopping from island to island.

Players should be able to produce naval infantry in every urban province with barracks. It will cost as much as paratroopers and can be researched on Day 2.

Another feature might be that naval infantry will be able to embark on battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and aircraft carriers in small quantities:
-Max 1 naval infantry per destroyer
-Max 2 naval infantry per cruiser
-Max 3 naval infantry per battleship
-Max 3 naval infantry per aircraft carrier
-Max 0 naval infantry per submarine

If the ship on which the naval infantry is embarked is sunk, then the naval infantry is sunk with it. Naval infantry that is embarked on warships will not have any attack or defense values until they disembark.
