    • damage taken by patrol

If a squad of bombers do a reduced percentage of damage to ground units every 30 minutes during patrol, the bombers will take a percentage of damage equal to the damage they deal, or take 100% defense damage from units on the ground?

if the bombers will take 100% of the damage i guess in some cases its not worth the patrol.
    • patrol does 50% dmg per 15 min , while attack does 100 %dmg . Then, you would have to refuel 10-30 mins (depends on airstrips). After that, you need to travel back so patrol is more time efficient. In terms of dmg , patrol is also more efficient due to the reason stated above and the defending troops attack first .

THIS IS JUST A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION, REAL GAME MAY DIFFER

What this means is that if the enemy takes 50% of your health , then u attack (so in this case 50% dmg) For patrol , enemy takes 25% of your health (in this situation it does 50% but it’s halved) , then u attack (so you would do dmg with 75% health) Second round , enemy is damaged , they would do 14% dmg then you would have 61% health remaining and do 50% dmg.

CONCLUSION ON HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION:attack button u do dmg with 50% health , whereas on patrol you would do dmg with 68% health on average (75% health on first tick and 61% on second tick)

Conclusion on everything: you would do more damage on patrol and you wouldn’t expose your planes when refuelling (when refuelling u do no dmg and you are counted as a light armored unit) . The only reason I would use attack is if your enemy is going to escape into enemy fighters coverage and they have much stronger/healthier fighters.
    • Your bombers always take less damage using the patrol function than if they make a direct attack. This is because, as they do half damage after 15 minutes, they will take half the damage from the defending unit as they would have if making a direct attack. However, in the second attack, after another 15 minutes, the target will have less hit points, and therefore do less damage to your planes than they did in the first attack. So, overall they take less damage.

So, for example, say you are attacking an enemy target with a defence value of 2.0.

If you make a direct attack, you will lose 2.0 hit points.

If you use patrol, then after the first 15 minutes, you do half damage, but only take half of his defence value, that is 1.0 hit points. But once you do damage, his defence value will drop, because his unit is damaged. So, on the second attack, you will not take another 1.0 damage, but less, because his defence value might have dropped from 2.0 to say, 1.4 (depending on how much damage you have done to him). So, in this case, you will only take a total of 1.0 + 0.7, or a total of 1.7 hit points, instead of 2.0 hit points.
