While still relatively new, I am no longer a pure "noob".
Yes I used gold my first game, (you have to live to learn) spent the rest the second and used "earned gold" <9,000 my third.
If you know any of the players in the 100 Player Free for all just completed, feel free to ask them if they saw any gold use. I also spared a player, France, who I could have virtually wiped out pre game end - and taken down a rank in the outcome, but I did not - I calculated his points and what he was loosing and went around multiple ( 15-20 ) cities to make sure he was in the same place (3d) as when I started my attack on him.
I played and got tips and coordinated with South China and South USA alot. They can testify to my play and teamwork.
Alliances - at least many of them seem to want players, yet my first post was basically ignored and messages to several Alliance "Leaders" were also ignored. I have spoken with one Alliance and now that I have completed 4 games - I will reach back out.
Due to my situation in real life, I can check on my games basically 24/7 - which is a huge advantage. If you are interested, please give me a shout. If no one seems to want to grab a new member ( and NO I will not just accept the first offer - I want an active Alliance ) I may just have to see about creating an Alliance with active and team oriented players myself. That would be the less optimal outcome but such is life.
