    • Replacing Inactives

      One of the features of CoW Classic (for those who have been around that long) was the ability to kick out inactive players from the current map and replace then with new players. This privilege would only be accessible to the game admin (usually the active player with the most VPs at that point). It allowed countries that have been taken over by the AI to be controlled by a human player joining at ex. day 20 in the game. Why they removed this feature for 2.0, no one knows. But with the increasing percentage of inactives in the games that make them painfully boring, I suggest that this feature be revived. Nowadays it is very rare for even 40% of the players to be competitive. If this feature was reinstated, there could be more human players on the map and it would make it more exciting, particularly for asymmetrical maps and scenarios.

      They could honestly just implement a bracket system. Would solve the inactivity problem, the mismatch problem, and it'd make balancing the game much more easier.
      This would be a bad idea, bracketing the game would not allow for diversity in players and a bunch of new people in a lobby would go inactive and be a bots game, no one would take the initiative and actually fight.

      Edit: Thus there would be alot less new players.

      A bit like CoN, where they have similar features.

      Both things were abused. Game Admins often kicked the inactives at first chance, sometimes resulting in players coming back and becoming very disappointed for being kicked. And the freed up slot was often used by friends of the game admin to join into the game and help them out. Or by trolls who just join games late to wreak havoc. We got alot of wolfpacking tickets back in the day due to this. Additionally, new players coming in with their own agenda was mixing up the world situation alot, because your passive neightbor might suddenly become an aggressive enemy, which also resulted in some frustration. It's like playing a boardgame and one of the players taking over for another player, but the new player for some reason wants to attack you. It disrupts and invalidades all the planning you did before.
      We decided that it's not worth it, so we disallowed joining past a certain point.
