    • Hopes for 2016

Hello my fellow players, I have a day off work and shall use that day to put forward ideas.

      Carriers
We all know what a carrier is, we all want them. I don't need to explain. These are likely the top unit for 2016.

      Far East Map
The reason why i've said "far east' is due to the amount of nations present in the Far East Theatre of the war. The British, US, French, Japs, National China, Commie China, France and even the Dutch. Allowing more nations will also allow us to play, for the first time, as the Dutch. Pretty neat, right?

      Specialised Infantry
I don't care if we get Paras or Marines first, just please, something to represent the huge leap forward in the way we sent troops into combat during the Second world War and Korea. I mean, the UN landing at Inchon was insane.

      Team Chat
I enjoy fixed team games, it means I have to talk to other players and I learn something new each game. It helps be grow as a player and get better, so a dedicated chat per game would really help. I Believe this idea has been mentioned a few times.

      Battleship names
Devs, I love you- you are all truly amazing people, but please- sort out the naming on battleships! For those of you who don't notice what happens, I shall explain. Lets say you name a level 1 Battleship, 'HMS Fred'. You then upgrade your battleships to level 2- 'HMS Fred' no longer has a name. He is just a plain unit. While this isn't game breaking, I feel it gets on the nerves of the RP community alot, as it often destroys historical ship names.

Now, these are the things I want, i'm not speaking for everyone here. These ideas have been on the table since 2015, but if I was to mention idea's from the community, I would like to thank those who put forward Naval ideas. WW2 was very naval dominated, from convoys to Germany's incredible pocket battleship designs. I feel like you should hunt those threads down, and give them a look.

      Yes!
      It's been a while
    • hotkeys for marching, add target, patrol, split up and so on would come in handy. It will make giving orders to your units a lot faster and save you a lot of time. Now youhave to move the mouse cursor to your units to slect, after that to the bottom of your screen to give an order, than back to the map for the desired destination. Hotkeys would skip the second move.

You can also add hotkeys for building/producing. I would like it, because the moment you que up your last building of 1 kind the screen jumps back to top and you ill mislick if you are unpatiënt.

Managing my countries would probably take half the time. Call me lazy, but this would be great.

Hot keys would be very useful, as you grow larger you need easier ways to manage troops

    • Silly thread when consistent server downtimes and a current lack of players patient enough to play a slow/unbalanced game exist. I see many more inactive players and half-empty maps much earlier now. Why even consider adding new stuff before everything works correctly?

      1. Game needs to be stable for an entire quarter, period.
      2. 100 man map needs to be reduced to 50 players, "AI" countries eliminated or placed better, and starting resources for all countries need to be balanced. I'm looking at almost 10 matches at the 3-4 day mark and there are 50-60 open slots which doesn't even account for inactive players holding a spot.
      3. Bring back "free selection" in 100 man maps (or 50 player maps). People just quit when they don't get a desired country or region. This idea was unannounced when implemented and simply backfired.
      4. "No-gold" matches where entry fee is gold but players are unable to use gold OR a "cool-down" clock is created after rushing research, buildings, units, etc. Moderate gold use is to be expected...but it needs to be reasonable to keep everyone interested in a somewhat fair fight. Bringing a knife to a gun battle is not optimal.
      5. Allow High Command to be purchased with gold.
      6. Speed up research and possibly production on 100 man map. There isn't much action in the game, this would help.

I like none of your ideas

just argue with one, World map is great with 100, dunno why you would shorten it other than a lack of ability to compete and succeed but I can assure you not everybody has that problem

    • How about a scenario editor? Every one could get exactly the game they wanted that way...
Some kind of Convoy raiding system. The lack of this is extremely disappointing. Winston Churchill once wrote that, '... the only thing that ever really frightened me during the war was the U-boat peril'. In saying this, he correctly identified the importance of the threat posed during World 2 Two by the 'Unterseeboot' to the Atlantic lifeline. - the loss of which would probably have led to wholesale defeat in the war. There are very simple ways to implement this.
And correct countries in the 1939 map, to include:
-ROMANIA! Seriously, the strictly neutral Sweden, but not the 1.3 million man AXIS partner of Romania???
      -Canada
      -Finland
      -Hungary/Slovakia
      -Cuba (joking)
-Correct pictures for the U.K., French & Italian units to name a few. Whey does the U.K. & France just use mostly American pictures? How hard is it to substitute Italian armor pictures & such? :/

Don't get me wrong CoW. This is hands down the most 'playable' multi-person WW2 type game out there and the great job in creating this game are MUCH appreciated
There are however some very easy... and perhaps some very difficult fixes that ought to be made.
