Some kind of Convoy raiding system. The lack of this is extremely disappointing. Winston Churchill once wrote that, '... the only thing that ever really frightened me during the war was the U-boat peril'. In saying this, he correctly identified the importance of the threat posed during World 2 Two by the 'Unterseeboot' to the Atlantic lifeline. - the loss of which would probably have led to wholesale defeat in the war. There are very simple ways to implement this.
And correct countries in the 1939 map, to include:
-ROMANIA! Seriously, the strictly neutral Sweden, but not the 1.3 million man AXIS partner of Romania???
-Canada
-Finland
-Hungary/Slovakia
-Cuba (joking)
-Correct pictures for the U.K., French & Italian units to name a few. Whey does the U.K. & France just use mostly American pictures? How hard is it to substitute Italian armor pictures & such?
Don't get me wrong CoW. This is hands down the most 'playable' multi-person WW2 type game out there and the great job in creating this game are MUCH appreciated
There are however some very easy... and perhaps some very difficult fixes that ought to be made.
Yeah, but Romania was as much use to Germany as the Italians were during the Africa Theatre.
UK/French/Italy tech trees are a floating idea, tbh, the UK used US gear due to lend-lease.
Hungary and Slovakia are tiny! And the position of both nations has them stuck between dominate Germany, Romania, Poland and Yugoslavia. I'd feel bad for those who played as those nations.
Convoys, as in food/goods will never happen: why do we need that? The map would be full of convoy ships and clog up ship lanes. That idea should be shelved forever.
The 1939 map is meant to be quick and fun, it doesn't need anymore nations.

Aircraft carriers would make naval bombers a lot more attractive and would indeed open up a whole new level of play. I'm all for it.

I agree with Kyrie, but it will all depend on how many planes we can put on the carrier. To few and it is totally useless. If there are enough, it might be worth producing in certain situations. No army will ever revolve around the aircraft carrier, but it may be a succesfull supportive unit in certain scenarios.
-
For play-ability maybe the Carriers could land the Marine unit quicker, the 100 player map Island hopping is a pain, and besides the few that have resources, largely useless and drain on your economy. But because of the scouting ability of the Naval Bomber, there has to be a slot for one on the carrier.
