I'm kind of disappointed we don't have landing craft in Call of War, since they are one of the most iconic pieces of military equipment used during the Second World War. They would act very similar to the Paratrooper unit by being a vulnerable transport that deploys infantry. It would be different from transport ships by having a near instant deployment time, and it would use a more advanced form of infantry like Parachute Rifleman.

As a side note, I think transport ships should have quicker disembarking times when upgraded!

True, or maybe the highest level of the Transport Ship would be a Landing Craft.
-
Aren’t transport ships also doubling as landing craft? At least that’s what I always assumed. lot of stuff in this game is left out and supposed to be left to interpretation. Like for example the anti air and anti tank damage in infantry comes from soldiers equipped with AA and AT stuff.

Well if you look at Transport Ships they are not specialized craft, they are literally just ships loaded with soldiers. Not to mention the in-game photos they put with the units, which also show that they are just mundane ships.
-
What if those ships carry landing craft that are loaded and sent out when disembarking? How else do you think the troops get off? They can’t show every aspect of a unit, so it’s probably supposed to be there but not shown.

I get that, but it's clearly not even mentioned. It's likely just a bunch of ladders on the side of the ship that the infantry get off of. That's also probably the reason it takes so long for soldiers to completely disembark. And I don't even think you can deploy landing craft unless you have a Cold War era ship, but they can deploy lifeboats.

I’m pretty sure it’s landing craft… Freezy himself said that many things are implied to be part of the game that are just not mentioned for various reasons. It’s honestly up for interpretation, but it’s most likely landing craft being used to land on coasts, as that’s the only real feasible way of doing such a difficult thing. It takes a lot longer than you’d think to land on a beach, gather all your men and equipment, then ready to move.
Adding new units to the game is a hard process from what I’ve heard. Not only designing the unit for all doctrines, but also giving its stats, balance and making sure that it’s actually gonna be used. Something like a marine unit may be cool, but when you’re not sure if it will end up like the paratrooper and you have 12,000 bugs to fix, it probably gets bumped down the list of concerns.

I agree there are some units where you can interpret the equipment used, but the Transport Ship is not one of them. You aren't always landing on a beach with the Transport Ship, they dock at the shipyard. Iron Order 1919 has almost the same type of units that Call of War has, except they have a landing craft called the Sea Factory. Since I stopped playing it it was used quite frequently. I get your point of assuming different things about units, but think to yourself does it really take 6 hours to load off some soldiers at a beach? No, it takes that long because you have to prepare ramps and other equipment to allow the soldiers to exit at a dock. The developers add plenty of useless units like the Flying Bomb and the Strategic Bomber, not to mention the failed Paratrooper. And the reason for these units being so bad isn't because of the concept, it's because of the lazy implementation. I get work is work, and coding takes intelligence. But I have done enough manual labor in my life to know I would choose 24 hour shifts of playing games at a cushy job over days of digging trenches in the sun. It can't really be that difficult to add units, they added so many already.

Do you really think it takes less than 6 hours for soldiers to land on say the coast of Scotland? Because you could technically do that in 6 hours in game… You underestimate the time it takes for mobilization!

It would take far less than 6 hours with landing craft, which shows that Transport Ships are not landing craft. Hence the name, Transport "Ship."
-
No it wouldn’t. You have to get all of the troops off, and also gather them and their equipment, reorganize, etc… that takes hours.

Cringe but I agree if they aren't going to add Landing Craft.

Landing Craft are only for infantry and light vehicles, making them way faster. Look at the D-day landings, they were able to deploy hundreds of thousands of soldiers in a matter of days. Shortened to in-game time that's only a few hours tops. Transport Ships need to have cranes and ramps to carry out heavy equipment. I know you have your points, and I have mine, but it's obvious that the Transport Ships are not Landing Craft. Think about this, when you are disembarking on allied territory are you storming the beaches? No, you are docking at a shipyard with cranes and other equipment.

Yes because when I landed in the undeveloped mountains of Scotland or the Ice Tundra I went onto the landing docks they totally have…

Saying "THIS" is what middle schoolers post on YouTube comments. Not made any better by the anime avatar, just saying.

Anime avatar is better than Bruno, trust me!

Provinces already have preset roads and docks for soldiers to travel on, I'm making the assumption just like you are to Transport Ships.
