Can you win this naval battle?

You can play as Red, White or both. Pacific Conquest. What do you do. What do you think happened?

Context: (all numbers approximate)

Red: S India is a gold abuser. Larger fleet (~3000) is 14 BS lvl 4, 7 destroyers lvl 5 and the rest carriers. He has 15 lvl 5 fighters and 15 lvl 4 naval bombers patrolling out of sight. He is too far from any airstrip to leave carriers.

Other red fleet is Aus ally. No planes and even mix of BS and Cruisers lvl 2/3 with 5 destroyers lvl 3. Around 1000 hp. He showed up after engagement. (That sucked).

White: playing as Utah: Has been fleeing from S India fleet for 3 days (northern white fleet returning from a full trip around S Australia and North P New Guinea). Fleet is beat up around 12 lvl 4 BS (cruisers killed) but with 3 lvl 3 carriers and 10 lvl 5 naval bombers and 6 lvl 4 fighters in decent shape. The rest of the fleet is lvl 3 transports.

Southern fleet 7 lvl 4 Cruisers and 7 lvl 4 BS, 6 lvl 3 subs 4 lvl 4 carriers and a lvl 3 destroyer. Again, remaining ships lvl 3 transports.

The squadron on Apia is 6 lvl 4 fighters, 15 lvl 5 naval bombers, 3 lvl 3 Tacs and 4 lvl 1 rocket fighters (that made it ashore before big red fleet arrived. 5 more sent off to hide in the Pacific). Air factories on Apia, Suva and Niue.

Each fleet is around 1800 hp.

Air power for S India and Utah hp more or less equal.

Edit Red fleets destroyed air factory on Suva. White planes had to refuel on Apia

A good amount of discussion here involves strategy. I’ve had some great naval battles where tactics can be decisive to the game.

Interesting. Have you tried upgrading and using naval bombers and subs?

As long as they keep bombarding the island your chances get higher as you get free hits. I’d have to say that you will probably win as you have far more ships (even if a lot of it is just health stuff). Maybe you could go for a melee attack so the convoys do extra damage? Making good use of your planes is probably important as well.

In my experience, micro-managing ships is most important in naval battles. You can strategically split them up and attack in diff stacks and then merge them again if you time it correctly for example!

Moving in and out of range in order to get equal shots in is also a smart idea. If you want you can split enough destroyers to take a few hits while your battleships stay healthy, though that only works if they are not active.

also have you tried using spies? They could give some intel on ships. Other than that naval bombers and good navy tactics should be good

Carking got the transports to absorb damage 100% correct. For the Southern fleet 100%. I lost 15 or more land units. No warships were lost by that fleet.

Red did not know about northern carrier group. No damage was done to any ship of Northern fleet.

What would u do as red?

BTW if anyone is impatient and wants the answer now message me. I’ll let a few days go by here before posting publicly here.

I will say the turning point was swift, decisive and was due to a huge mistake by red.

Very similar to the Battle of Midway 1942.

but I did message him with his planes’ exact hitpoints after the first dogfight. He did not gold. We agreed not too. I have a ton of gold and boosters too.

Lol but being serious I’d probably use my fleet to try to avoid your smaller amount of battleships while grounding and getting your planes away. Shooting and scooting your cruisers until I can grind you down, and using my fighters to keep your planes away if I can’t ground them. I think it wouldn’t be to difficult if I can deal with the planes.
