This was mentioned a while back but I felt it was worth suggesting it again....
Units that wind up cut off should have some kind of penalty.
In a game I'm in now there is a stack of 30 enemy troops just running rampant through my lands. They are cut off from friendly territory save for the one province they occupy at the moment before moving on.
They continue to fight normally. Continue to get the 15% healing at day change.
It's logical, and quite effective during WW2, to encircle the enemy and cut off their supplies. They could continue to fight for a period of time before being forced to surrender.
So, if units cannot trace back to a friendly province they should suffer a penalty...either no healing at day change, reduced combat efficiency, something.
Meaning the province they are in must be connected to friendly land. Occupying a city can be an exception since cities feasibly could supply troops.
