Dear Bytro Developers: Stop Fixing What Isn’t Broken

    • I don’t know if I qualify as a “gray beard” but I’ll put my input in nevertheless.

It seems that War Bonds have a greater effect on the game in its early stages, particularly in the first few days of the game. What I would suggest is lowering the rate at which War Bonds are generated in the first 3 to 5 days of every game. This would aim to reduce early-game War Bond usage and give everyone a fair(er) start.
    • To play devil's advicate.... only the early days matter. This is when most players decide to abandon a map, if they feel bored or overwhelmed or whatever the reason. Bytro probably cares more about affecting the start of a game, than the later stages, when most players have already left and a few remaining hard-core players are duking it out for the win. Arguably, war bonds should disappear in the mid to late game, to put more emphasis on planning and skill, as opposed to gimicky features intended to juice the number of active player accounts.

Another change to war bonds. I do wonder about the complete lack of management here. Let the changes settle down Bytro !!! Constant changes are pathetic. Did they not trial it first ??

Now we are back to gold diggers again. So on day 1 you cant choose a likely invader and see what forces they have ($50,000 no one is going to have that) or survive a massive gold attack (cant heal much units with $5000 bonds). Great Bytro, you sort of solve the gold problem then within a month completely give in. Pathetic.

If you behave like this it is no wonder Bytro can't communicate with you amigo. You need to meditate and think through what are your actual interests, so that you present to Bytro some valid way to improve the game. If I were the community manager, I would think seeing how rashly and emotionally you responded, you likely don't know what you're saying. And it is not worth listening to you because if I follow your compulsive first-minute feedback and implement a change, another thing from this new game version will trigger you again and the complaints will never end.

I know this is harsh and judgemental but you need to think more before posting amigo. Sorry

Also, I think including more WB in HighCom benefits is not bad. You can still do crazy instant mana-magic with it, but at least HC is so much more civilized than buying 100,000 gold and spending it immediately at the first object of one's impatience. As a customer the only thing you can do is agree with Bytro to find an acceptable way to monetize. Business can't be done without money. Even if Bytro devs were volunteers, renting a high-performance server is not free. Realize that.

*Edit: also it is very possible that reducing starting amount of WarBonds was a concession in response to player feedback. Bytro kindof used it as the "good thing" to make the HC bonus (pay-to-win intensification) appear less negative when coupled with this concession. But I think the HC bonus is much less negative than many other things they could do.
If you have above 10k manpower, you're not investing properly. A good player never has many resources.

Larger armies destroy enemies faster without taking damage from them.

Build only: 1 military building in each city, airstrips, and recruiting stations to boost manpower.

Minimize research, 2 unit types early, 6 types in late game. Upgrade old units, but: artillery lv1 to lv2 is a waste, only lv1 to lv4 is worth it.

      Enjoy

    • I have been In business and can testify that change is always necessary. One must keep up with consumer demand. If you stay in the same mode year after year your competition will eventually eat your customer base.
P.S. whining is the customers right they do it all the time just like here at Bytro. So grin and bear if it’s not about WB it will SOON be something else.

What would be interesting would be to hear from some of the gray beards here in the forum to discuss ways to maximize there effectiveness.

To me, the most effective usage seems to be speeding research and the units you get for them. If a tech is available at, say, D4, it is now available at the start of D4, rather than many hours into D4 to finish research plus the actual unit production time. Having that unit at D4 + 1 minute is a great advantage. The research slots falls free immediately as well, so the net amount of research you can do increases. Be sure to have ONE city with the optimal factory level in your empire, that's the place where you use your mana. Parallel factories lose some of their value (though you can't mana all your units, obviously).

Healing is very situational, but seems to work best for air as they suffer most from creeping attrition.

Attacking buildings (especially air strips, and forts as well) is mostly off the table now after the price increase, though there are still a few use cases for it.

Local reveals are GREAT!! They give you an accurate and up-to-date view of like 5-10 provinces of your enemy's troops; and not just those from one country, but all countries who have troops in the area. Use them before pushing into an enemy, and you'll know how to clear him.
When the fake daddies are curtailed, we have failed. When their roller coaster tolerance is obliterated, their education funds are taken by Kazakhstani phishers, and their candy bars distributed between the Botswana youth gangs, we have succeeded.
