Rockets

    • Hi

I'm new to the game, so would like to know the community's view of rockets. I've just seen my large expensively assembled air force wiped out by a couple of level 2 rockets, not to mention tanks, artillery, etc.

This is madness, these V2s are totally overpowered. Not to mention that in real life V2s were next to useless. On average 1 rocket killed 3 people in WW2, but in this game they can wipe out multiple units in a single stroke. I've played many WW2 war games and was really enjoying this one, but this one unit, in my opinion, makes a mockery of the whole game.

Of course, I could build some myself, but where would the fun be in that?

Unless this is fixed, I'm probably going to leave Call of War for good, which would be a shame as the game has great potential.

    • I gess your enemy played smart and decided to attack your planes while refuelling.

I use rockets sometimes. I can play with or without them and against them if I have to. Just need to be a little carefull with your planes if your enemy as rockets nearby. As he will also have to be carefull with his rockets since they have no defence value.

Despite rockets have been far from perfect in WW2 I think they are ok in this game. They deal a good amount of damage and are unstoppable once flying through the air (except for level 1 rockets). On the other hand they have an reasonable cost, are transported pretty slowly and have no defence values.
    • Rockets are anti-infrastructure, and there were hardly useless. Mass rocket attacks are common in the game, as rockets are cheap. They're not over powered, and if you put your entire Air force together in one unit stack, you deserve to be wiped out.

You are the first person, in the months i've been on this forum, complain about rockets. And if you refuse to build rockets for some stupid reason, you're gonna get destroyed time and time again.

But, if you're leaving, I wish you luck in the future.

    • Rockets in my opinion are fine, you need to use them wisely, and you need to spread your units out and not stack them all in one. If your enemy sees a weakness, they will take advantage of it, that's the point of all of us being sentient beings.

Anyway, good luck in the future.

    • The main problem I have against rockets is that their military use in this game is TOTALLY historically inaccurate. Maybe they are a cool element to the game for some players, but I like playing good WW2 simulations, and the effect of these rockets have absolutely nothing to do with WW2.
    • Maybe, but this just didn't exist in the time period that this game represents. V2s did exist, but the damage they did was minimal.

Anyway, not to flog a dead horse. I see that there are other players who think like me and they arrange games where the use of rockets is banned.

    • Given that the game generally draws from the period of 1930-1955, early missiles would have existed.
