Weird Combat Result

I was fighting a dead-stick opponent and they had a lone AA gun (100%) out there. All I had in range to go clean it up was a single Anti-Tank (100%)

I expected to take it out and take some damage (3,4,5 points).

But I did not expect that the AA Gun would destroy the Anti-Tank Unit and still have 20% life left.

The AA should be a 1.0 defense w/10 hp. Anti-Tank 3.0 attack w/ 10 hp. Should be a clear victory?

Or am I missing something?

You are. Anti Tank has attack against Anti Air (which has infatry armor class) either 1.0 or 1.5 depending on its level. You probably looked at a wrong place.

The battle would have been almost even, due to very similar combat stats.

That is what I missed. That Anti-tank is classified as infantry even if it shows under the Armor section on the build selection screen.

I believe other units would treat the anti-tank as armour, not infantry. You didn't specify what the levels of the units were but for even levels the anti-tank would win easily 1 on 1 vs anti-air on average. Battles do have a lot of random variance though, so in rare cases it could go the other way.

You are wrong, he said correctly that anti tank is in infatry class, so is anti air. If you don't know which unit belong to which class, check their info.

Hey guys!.

There is also some random aspects added to battles to make it more realistic. These random calculations dont effect battles much, but can mean the difference between a small win or loss. the game isnt based just on stats of the troops. but some equation to have a random chance of changing the battle a little. its part of the game mechanics.
