    • Help us identify Gold Usage

I propose a simple way to inform users when Gold is being used. These could be available as a set option when creating the game (100-players maps do not qualify)

      (crude) examples:

      Golded Units:

      Golded Buildings:
      Pax Romana Communications Officer

    • Essentially, anything done with gold would flag it as being done with gold.

Another option, to not highlight the gold usage as much, is to word something in the newspaper cleverly.

      "Breakthrough in Germany!"
A breakthrough in engineering resulted in the speedy production of 16th Light Tank Division
A breakthrough in engineering resulted in the speedy production of 18th Light Tank Division
A breakthrough in engineering resulted in the speedy production of 23rd Anti-Air Division
A breakthrough in engineering resulted in the speedy production of 26th Infantry Division
      Pax Romana Communications Officer

    • Seems like a conflict of interest between players and the company. Such a feature would discourage gold usage which is how they make money. I think the best solution is to simply have games where gold cannot be used except that entering the game requires an initial hefty gold investment, commensurate with expected profits for a game and taking into account that players that invest gold in these games may not use much gold otherwise.

Might be true. I also think it would be a good idea to at least try it out the original idea first and work from there.

    • A terrible idea. That would cause so much gold bashing for those who spent gold. We would only hear of more complaints.

I agree 100%. It would make buyers, or potential buyers think twice before supporting the company. These "golders" is what makes this game "free to play". Instead of paying 39.99+++ just to make an account, we can all play for free.... Unless someone is spending gold to create massive armies, MOST players you should be able to beat with skill. That I can say with my wealth of knowledge and experience. ;)
    • This becomes the dilemma in micro transaction games. This one is no different. You will not get a company who is funded via these types of transactions to agree with anything that:

1.) Negatively or otherwise identifies the "purchasers" of these transactions so that the rest of the community can paint targets on them for harassing. Gold is part of the game just as much as building a tank is. As previously mentioned a skilled player isn't going suffer much from the ability to purchase gold. My guess is the the whining doesn't stem from other people using gold as much as it stems from those who don't want to pay to use it themselves. I chose not to anymore, I did when I first started but now only to keep High Command going and this is how I chose to support the game. I don't mind paying $6\mo. for that.

2.) Anything that will deter another player from possibly making these purchases themselves. If I decide to buy gold, then it's really not anyone else's business except the company and myself. I do not have to let other players know about it and neither does the company or the game. Except the fact that it can happen and play accordingly, no need to identify things made or enforced with gold.

3.) Anything that will encourage the non-purchase. This is obvious as I don't believe that Bytro is a non-profit organization so why would they agree to anything related to taking money away from the company in any way, shape, fashion or form.

      Just my $.02, hope I didn't offend anyone :)
