      Naval units like destroyers are good enough for defending convoys, but I would inquire whether a speed setting could be incorporated into naval assets? All naval units have their respective speeds at whatever level they are researched, but that speed is the only speed at which they currently operate. I would like to see a setting that would allow players to limit the speed of their ships below the ship's maximum. To provide an example where this would be useful, a convoy of land units could be placed between two destroyer squadrons on a sea lane, and the destroyer squadrons could be limited to the convoy's 27 km/h so that they don't leave the convoy behind. The destroyer squadrons and convoy would move in line, on the sea lane, with the convoy in between the destroyers. A speed specific daily upkeep could also be implemented on conventional vessels, though I don't find this as concerning and it would make little difference for nuclear vessels. Further input is more than welcome.
    • I quite like the idea of a speed setting, sort of lets you make a picket line with faster ships for a fleet in hostile waters without having to add something like a battleship (if that's the case, may as well make it a fleet) or a throwaway convoy unit to it.

      But I wouldn't solely recommend it for convoy escort simply because it would leave the convoy being protected vulnerable to air targets
