    • One step forward!

      Dear Generals,

today is a good day. We have briliant news for you. We achieved another milestone and will soon be able to research even faster in bigger battlefields. This means the following for you:

“When we released the 50 and 100 player map we increased the research intervals on these maps by 50% to ensure enough variety in the later stages of the game. However, our latest observations have revealed that on these maps the advanced technologies are barely researched, since most players already dropped out of the game by the time they become available. We also have taken the feedback of the players to heart that want a faster gameplay and an earlier access to the later technologies. For these reasons we will set the research intervals on the 50 and 100 player map back to the default value. With that change we hope to foster a more exciting and dynamic game experience on our bigger maps. In particular, this should also enable more players to benefit from the new elite units, which can be unlocked by collecting the supply crates on the map.”

      [*]Quote from our Gamedesigner

Those changes will become active on tuesday. In case you want to prepare yourself for those changes already feel free to check out the requirements for research on the 22 player or 4 player maps.

We hope you like the changes. Tell us your feedback in the forum.
      Have fun playing!

    • This isnt "One Step Forward" just for the maps, its a big step leap for the game for another reason.

This, to me at least. Shows that the Devs, are really listening to the players, and taking interest in the feedback. To me, I think this is the bigger step forward, and I am very happy.

      Good work guys

    • Good udpate.

"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius.

Me too. I was going to make a "Two Steps Back" joke but I can't.

    • I dont think it a step forward but back, you should have increase the time of research, and put more slot than 2 in research.
If you take the time the travel on map vs time to research, it not have any sense. You research the T-34 tank for exemple most used tank in the war, but 4 day of use laters it already obselete. So the people will just concentrate on secret research and built missile and bomb. For me when people begin to have nuclear thing it when it should end not begin and it when I mostly become inactive. WW2 ended with A-bombs, so this game should change his name because it not reallly feal like 1942 with advanced technlogy used more in the 50's. And only USA used the bombs, other country was not before the 50's too.
So welcome to infinite number of light tank and rush in the first's weeks until they got a-bombs and bomber.
    • Fixing poor design is a monumental achievement? I would have been happier if South West Africa didn't have 5 double resource provinces. Save your celebratory themed post until all your poor design flaws have been handled, current bugs fixed, and stats rebalanced. I don't doubt that CoW is grossing more than the other Supremacy variants combined by now and yet real innovative development here has halted for over 6 months.
