Currently, aircraft have this issue where when at an airbase, they fight enemies using their airborne characteristics.
This is a huge problem against non-AIs which cannot be lured out of the airbases. My suggestion is that when landed/attacked on the ground, they fight as grounded, but with an option to withdraw to friendly airbase in range.
Opinions?
